In Your World
Muse Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I'm hurting you again
Too lonely to pretend
Like everything is new
I promised you to blow it all away

In your world
No one is crying alone
In your world
No one is dying alone

Too broken to belong
Too weak to sing along
I'll comfort you my friend
Helping you to blow it all away

In your world
No one is crying alone

In your world
No one is dying alone

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Muse's song In Your World depict a sense of loneliness and isolation felt by the singer. He acknowledges that he is hurting his friend again, unable to feign ignorance of the situation. Despite his efforts to mask his emotions, he is too lonely to pretend that everything is okay. He promises to 'blow it all away,' suggesting that he wishes to ease his friend's pain, but at the same time, he could be projecting his desires onto his friend. The following lines, "in your world, no one is crying alone, in your world, no one is dying alone," offer a glimpse into the singer's psyche, emphasizing his yearning to escape his loneliness and find solace in his friend's world. The lines imply that the singer desires to experience a world where he isn't alone in his feelings, where he feels heard and understood.

The second verse echoes similar sentiments, further highlighting the singer's struggles with belonging, and how he is too broken and weak to engage with others. He promises to offer comfort to his friend, hoping to ease her pain, all while attempting to 'blow it all away.' The song, as a whole, portrays a glimpse into the singer's psyche, his struggles and desires, his feelings of isolation, and his yearning to escape.

This song is literally about somebody who thinks “Oh everything’s gonna be ok and nothing bad is gonna happen.” And the song is telling them like “No. That’s not right; people are crying and dying alone and you’re too blind to realize it.” Muse is a lot darker than people think...

@Space Dementia it is? How? Like where in the lyrics hints that?

Space Dementia

Actually this son is about 9/11, but fit with your description quite well.

In my world there's only one reason to hit an entire playlist, and that's Muse. Every song is so good and unique. Especially the fucking B-sides D:
