Black Holes and Revelations (2006) incorporated electronic and pop elements, displayed in singles such as "Supermassive Black Hole", and brought Muse wider international success. The Resistance (2009) and The 2nd Law (2012) explored themes of government oppression and civil uprising and cemented Muse as one of the world's major stadium acts. Rolling Stone stated the band possessed "stadium-crushing songs". Topping the US Billboard 200, their seventh album, Drones (2015), was a concept album about drone warfare and returned to a harder rock sound. Their eighth album, Simulation Theory (2018), prominently featured synthesisers and was influenced by science fiction and the simulation hypothesis. Their ninth album, Will of the People (2022), which combined many genres and themes from their previous albums, was released in August 2022.
Muse have won numerous awards, including two Grammy Awards, two Brit Awards, five MTV Europe Music Awards and eight NME Awards. In 2012 they received the Ivor Novello Award for International Achievement from the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors. As of June 2016, they have sold over 30 million albums worldwide.

Muse Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I want to be free
From desolation and despair
And I feel like everything I saw
Is being swept away
When I refuse to let you go
I can't get it right
Since I met you
Loneliness be over
When will this loneliness be over
Life will flash before my eyes
So scattered almost
I want to touch the other side
And no one thinks they are to blame
Why can't we see
That when we bleed we bleed the same
I can't get it right
Get it right
Since I met you
Loneliness be over
When will this loneliness be over
Loneliness be over
When will this loneliness be over
The song “Map Of The Problematique” by Muse speaks about the desperation and fear in a world where problems overwhelm every part of one’s life. The lyrics depict the fear and panic that is present in the atmosphere, and the desire to be free from desolation and despair. The central theme running through this song is the feeling of loneliness and the search for companionship to overcome isolation.
The lyrics talk about how everything that one sees is being swept away, and how they feel like they are unable to let go. It denotes the struggle to overcome the fear and despair that seems to be present everywhere. The chorus speaks about the inability to get it right, possibly giving a voice to the sense of defeat and hopelessness that is present in society.
As the song progresses, it portrays life as fleeting, with flashes of existence before one's eyes. It is a reminder that the fear and panic that surround us will not be there forever, and that life is precious. The final lines of the chorus give hope for an end to the loneliness that the singer feels, with the longing for the “loneliness to be over”. The song ends with the hope that one day our problems will be resolved, hence the title "Map of the Problematique".
