Black Holes and Revelations (2006) incorporated electronic and pop elements, displayed in singles such as "Supermassive Black Hole", and brought Muse wider international success. The Resistance (2009) and The 2nd Law (2012) explored themes of government oppression and civil uprising and cemented Muse as one of the world's major stadium acts. Rolling Stone stated the band possessed "stadium-crushing songs". Topping the US Billboard 200, their seventh album, Drones (2015), was a concept album about drone warfare and returned to a harder rock sound. Their eighth album, Simulation Theory (2018), prominently featured synthesisers and was influenced by science fiction and the simulation hypothesis. Their ninth album, Will of the People (2022), which combined many genres and themes from their previous albums, was released in August 2022.
Muse have won numerous awards, including two Grammy Awards, two Brit Awards, five MTV Europe Music Awards and eight NME Awards. In 2012 they received the Ivor Novello Award for International Achievement from the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors. As of June 2016, they have sold over 30 million albums worldwide.

Micro Cuts
Muse Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Megaphone screaming my name
Whimpers someone I should've loved
Souls weeping above
I've seen what you're doing
Destroying puppet strings
To my soul
Micro waves me insane
A Blaine cuts in your brain
Sounds like forks on a plate
Blackboard scratched with hate
I've seen what you're doing
Destroying puppet strings
To my soul
The song Micro Cuts by Muse appears to be about a relationship that has turned abusive, leaving the singer feeling helpless and insane. The imagery of "hands red with your blame" could be interpreted as the physical abuse inflicted by the abuser. The line "Megaphone screaming my name" could represent the constant verbal abuse or manipulation that the abuser inflicts. The following line "Whimpers someone I should've loved" could signify the internal struggle of the singer, who may still love the abuser despite the abuse they endure.
The lines "Micro waves me insane" and "A Blaine cuts in your brain" are particularly striking, as they suggest a level of psychological torment inflicted upon the singer. The use of these disorienting and unsettling images, along with the metaphor of "destroying puppet strings to my soul," creates a sense of powerlessness and loss of control. The comparison of the distorted sound of "forks on a plate" with the scratching of a "blackboard with hate" further adds to the sense of distress and unease present throughout the song.
Overall, Micro Cuts is a poignant and emotionally powerful exploration of the devastating effects of abuse, both physical and psychological.

@Corvid
Yeah, if you've got a certain voice you can imitate it with difficultly! I can hit the notes smoothly too, but forget vibrato..... that's what gets me about Matt's voice, his ability to effortlessly add any strength of vibrato to any note!
@michaeledwards6683
I can sing out pretty well, but I have nowhere near that awesome of vibrato in my voice

apiz arsha-veen He is an artist. A magician. A wizard and will go down in history as one of the best modern composers and the best falsetto voice of his generation. Not to mention his creativity with hard rock is as good as his treatment of classical works. He's amazing...that's all there is to it.
