The Resistance (2009) and The 2nd Law (2012) explored themes of government oppression and civil uprising and cemented Muse as one of the world's major stadium acts. Rolling Stone stated the band possessed "stadium-crushing songs". Topping the US Billboard 200, their seventh album, Drones (2015), was a concept album about drone warfare and returned to a harder rock sound. Their eighth album, Simulation Theory (2018), prominently featured synthesisers and was influenced by science fiction and the simulation hypothesis. Their ninth album, Will of the People (2022), which combined many genres and themes from their previous albums, was released in August 2022.
Muse have won numerous awards, including two Grammy Awards, two Brit Awards, five MTV Europe Music Awards and eight NME Awards. In 2012 they received the Ivor Novello Award for International Achievement from the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors. The lyrics of Space Dementia by Muse describe a dysfunctional and toxic relationship. The introduction of the song talks about finding comfort and relief in something, in this case, the H-8 which could be a reference to a drug or a person that gives a sense of purpose and survival. However, there is someone who makes the singer "sick" but at the same time, they adore them too much that they ignore the malicious actions that harm them. In the chorus, there is the expression of space dementia, a derangement caused by the hostile environment of outer space, which can be interpreted as the insanity that comes along when one is in a relationship like this. "Peace will arise and tear us apart and make us meaningless again" speaks to the idea that even the limited extent of sanity and tranquility they feel might not be enough to salvage the relationship that has failed, and it will only contribute to worsening the situation.

Next album definitely needs to be more classical, baroque oriented just like this one was. The blend between heavy rock and classical music is what makes Muse, Muse. You can add all the fun we hear in BR&R and ST, of course: synths, new experimental sounds, etc. But the core needs to be this: rocks and classical. OoS and Absolution, and even The Resistance, are true masterpieces as albums as a whole.

@Cam D Precisely that. And that's what Muse are: a lot of different styles, always very well written and executed. It's like there are more than one Muse: there's the heavy, classical Muse; the mix between Pop and Classical; the art rock, futuristic Muse; and so on, always with a special and very clear backbone-sound that distinguishes them, after all.

I don't like the violins, imo they distract from the eerie space theme, and all of a sudden it sounds like a movie soundtrack instead of what it is, one of the most brilliant pieces of art created in the last century.
The music itself, without even the lyrics, tells a story of pain and struggle for deeper connections culminating into an acceptance of madness.
