Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Race, life’s a race
And I am gonna win
Yes, I am gonna win

And I’ll light the fuse
And I’ll never lose
And I choose to survive
Whatever it takes
You won’t pull ahead
I’ll keep up the pace
And I’ll reveal my strength
To the whole human race
Yes I am prepared
To stay alive
I won’t forgive, the vengance is mine
And I won’t give in
Because I choose to thrive
I’m going to win

Race, It’s a race
But I’m gonna win
Yes I’m gonna win
And will light the fuse
I’ll never lose
And I choose to survive
Whatever it takes
You won’t ṗull ahead
I’ll keep up the pace
And I’ll reveal my strength
To the whole human race
Yes I’m gonna win

Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!
Win! Win! Win! Win!

I use Survival as a vital aid enabling component of my will to fight a painful and life shortening condition that I was born with. Vital because Survival has strengthened that will to fight without lessening the other vital reasons I have that also enable my will to fight.. TL;DR Survival has helped to increase my life span. Thank You Muse

Survival's best when played right after Prelude.

I heard this in 2012 at the Silverstone 6 Hours motor race, when it was played as the cars moved away from the grid for the rolling start. It brought a tear to my eye then, and it still does now every time I hear it.

Exactly. Many don't realize that. But Matt Bellamy is a huge fan of Chopin and has used themes from his music multiple times.

The beginning reminds me of the 2nd movement of Rachmaninoff's piano concerto
