This is European culture at its highest. An Australian woman of Dutch descent singing a Latin hymn by St. Thomas Aquinas one of the most brilliant philosophers and theologians of all time. The hymn celebrates the bread of angels, Christ the Incarnate Son of God who gave Himself on the cross and presents Himself to us in the Eucharist. Every part of this is a masterwork of love.

Thanks , mom passed away peacefully at home on Aug 25. I'm still numb, it hasn't sunk in yet. I had this song played during communion at her funeral mass. It was a beautiful send off. Now I'm cleaning out her home reliving my childhood, and it's sad but joyful. I was so blessed to have such a mom. Thank you God for giving me the pleasure of being her daughter. Save me a seat at the Lords banquet mom 😇🙏🦋 miss you so 😢💔

This was my fathers favorite song he told me how he sung it back when he was a boy in church, I never listened to it till after he passed and it brought tears to my eyes in it’s beauty , it was like my life seemed fuller and happier that I was blessed to listen to it , this world would be a better place if everyone would sit back and listen to it .

During my younger years I was privileged, as were numerous others worldwide, to sing this Panis Angelicus, but with the second verse: Te Trina Deitas... sang it mostly at church weddings, also at funeral Masses; as well as Schubert’s Ave Maria and other sacred hymns. This was mostly in and around Selkirk Manitoba in the fifties and early sixties. Great lasting memories.

Thanks for Frank, the composer of this holly music. Especially every December his music (violin sonata in A major & panis angelicus) close to me hugging and warming. And this version is always best touching. Thanks Mr. Rieu & Mirusia. God bless you.
