Hold onto Me
Music Travel Love Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
And when you feel your faith fading
When you feel like a love is taking, way too long
Baby, hold on to me
Tighter than your sweetest memory, of you and me
When you're looking for an open door
But it seems so out of reachBaby, hold on to me, on to me
Life can weigh you down like a stone
It can bend you, break you
Leave you skin and bones
It's a long and winding road
You don't have to walk alone
So baby, hold on to me, onto me
Tighter than your sweetest memory, of you and me
A place to lay your troubles down
That's what I'll be
Baby, hold on to me, on to me, yeah-yeah
Hold on to me
Hold on to me
A place to lay your troubles down
That's what I'll be
So baby, hold on to me, on to me
Tighter than your sweetest memory, of you and me
When you're looking for an open door
But it seems so out of reach
Baby, hold on to me, on to me
Hold on to me, on to me, yeah yeah
Hold on to me
Woah, woah, waah
The lyrics to Music Travel Love's song Hold onto Me are full of reassurance and comfort for someone going through a tough time. The song encourages the listener to hold on during difficult times and to not lose faith. The opening lines "When you feel your world shaking, and when you feel your faith fading" sets the tone for the song and acknowledges that life can be tough and unpredictable. The singer then offers themselves as a support system for the listener, by asking them to "hold onto me".
The chorus "Tighter than your sweetest memory, of you and me" is particularly poignant, as it compares holding onto the singer to holding onto a cherished memory. The notion of holding onto something tightly is a symbol of strength and comfort. The lyrics also recognize that life can feel like an uphill battle at times, with the line "when you're looking for an open door but it seems so out of reach" empathizing with the listener and offering a message of hope.
Overall, the lyrics to Hold onto Me are a comforting reminder that we don't have to face life's challenges alone. Whether it's a friend, family member, or significant other, we all have someone to turn to when we need support.

I'll be that person for you
Life can weigh you down like a stone
The struggles of life can be like heavy stones that weigh you down
It can bend you, break you
Life can bend and break you down emotionally and physically
Leave you skin and bones
To the point where you feel depleted and empty inside
It's a long and winding road
The journey of life can be a long and challenging path
You don't have to walk alone
You don't have to do it by yourself
Hold on to me, on to me
I'm still here for you, holding onto you
Hold on to me
Keep holding onto me

This is a FANTASTIC song! Extremely well written & performed. Due to some hard circumstances, I ran away from home when I was 14. Lake Tahoe was where I ended up, in the middle of winter. Hard times. But this song took me back there.
I'm unsure why? But as I've been thinking it over the past couple of days? It wasn't a woman, or even a person, at that time I had to hold on to....
It was HOPE. For a better day. A new life. A place I could belong, where people actually cared, & I wasn't just an after-thought.. a responsibility.. a burden.
I felt Hope for the first time, even thought the time was difficult. Strange I guess, for someone so young. But that's what it was.
And that's what this wonderful song means to me.
This song is a treasure- I can't believe I only found it recently. But I DID find it.
Thank you MTL for creating this work of art. With so many cover songs being done, it's always awesome to find great, Original music, right here- fully alive & well!
