Paiba-iba mong isip pilit naming inunawa
Sinikmura't tiniis baho ng iyong bunganga
Sa pag-aakala na may matatamo
Kumilos din kami ng ayon sa batas
Ngunit ang iyong ganti pananakot at dahas
Ito ba ang pagbabagong parating
Ito ba ang pagbabagong parating
Ito ba ang pagbabagong parating
Na sa aming karapatang pantao'y kikitil
Gaano man kahusay maglaro at magpanggap
The song Ito Ba? by MusikangBayan speaks about the broken promises and empty words from those in power. The first stanza talks about how the people used to believe in what the person in power would say, but now those promises have been broken and have no meaning. This leads to frustration and disappointment among the people. The second stanza talks about how the people tried to understand the ever-changing thoughts of those in power, but it became unbearable due to the lies and deceit coming out from their mouths.
The chorus, which is repeated throughout the song, questions if the change that was promised is really arriving? Is this what we were hoping for? The change that will take away our human rights? The song is a call for justice and accountability. It talks about how the people followed the laws set by the government, but instead of gratitude, they were met with threats and violence.
Overall, the message of the song is clear. It is about the people's struggle for justice and how they are standing up against those who are abusing their power. It calls for a real change where human rights are being respected and upheld. It's a powerful message that captures the sentiment of the oppressed and the marginalized.
