The singles "Just Friends (Sunny)", "Love", and "Girl Next Door" received exposure in America mainly on the more underground music video network, MTV2, as well as on BET. La-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la
La-la-la-la
Never thought that we would ever be more than friends
Now I'm all confused 'cause for you, I have deeper feelings
We both thought it was cool to cross the line
And I was convinced it would be alright
And really, I just want my friend back
And my mind's gone half-crazy 'cause I can't leave you alone (oh)
(Can't get you out of my system)
And I'm wonderin', if it's worth me holding on (holding on)
Said my mind's gone half-crazy, 'cause I can't leave you alone
(Can't get you out of my system)
And I'm wonderin', if it's worth me holding on (oh, oh, yeah)
I'd to hate walk away from you as if this never existed
'Cause when we kissed, the moment after I looked at you different, yeah
Lately, I gotta watch what I say
'Cause you take things personal nowadays
You used to laugh, now you get mad
Damn, I just want my friend back
And my mind's gone half-crazy 'cause I can't leave you alone (oh)
(Can't get you out of my system)
And I'm wonderin', if it's worth me holding on (holding on)
Said my mind's gone half-crazy, 'cause I can't leave you alone
(Can't get you out of my system)
And I'm wonderin', if it's worth me holding on (oh, oh, yeah)
Oh-oh, oh-oh-oh (yeah), yeah
What happened to the one I used to know? (Oh yeah, yeah)
The one I used to laugh and joke with
The one I used to tell all my secrets, uh
We used to chill and be down for whatever, whenever, together, yeah
And my mind's gone half-crazy 'cause I can't leave you alone (oh)
(I'm goin' half-crazy, baby)
And I'm wonderin', if it's worth me holding on (oh, yeah, oh)
Said my mind's gone half-crazy, 'cause I can't leave you alone (and I just don't know)
And I'm wonderin', if it's worth me holding on (I said I just don't know what to do now)
(Listen, we used to chill,)
And my mind's gone half-crazy 'cause I can't leave you alone (yeah, we used to hang)
(We used to) and I'm wonderin' if it's worth me holding on
(We used to do so many things together, yeah)
(Yeah yeah, uh) and my mind's gone half-crazy
But I can't leave you alone (yeah, yeah)
(Oh-oh, oh-oh) and I'm wonderin' if it's worth me holding on (yeah)
Oh, oh, oh, uh
The lyrics of Musiq's "Halfcrazy" describe a conflicted emotional state resulting from crossing the line from friendship to romantic feelings for a close friend. The singer reflects on how their relationship has changed since taking that step, citing instances of misunderstandings and personal affronts that were not present before. This has left them unsure if it is worth holding on to this situation or if they should walk away and try to regain the friendship that existed before things got complicated.
The song's opening is a catchy and repetitive melody, and while it fits the song's overall theme of being half-crazy and unsure, it also adds to the catchy nature of the tune. The chorus, with the singer questioning if it is worth hanging on to this relationship, feels raw and honest, showing vulnerability and a desire for clarity in the situation. The bridge further emphasizes the singer's desire to regain the closeness they once shared, reminiscing about how things used to be, and wondering what happened to the person they used to know.
Overall, "Halfcrazy" is a relatable song that delves into the complexities of relationships that blur the lines between friendship and love. Musiq shows sensitivity and emotional depth while exploring these themes, resulting in a hit that has become a staple of R&B playlists.

Stress happens, the homie having a human moment.
This is what the loss of this woman’s energy has done to him.

Men going their own way are broken.
