It's really over now, She ain't comin' back
I really don't know how, things ever got this bad cause I
I said sorry way too much, this time sorry ain't enough
And now she's gone, and it's only now, that I realize
How much she means to be without
[Chorus 1]
Still I'm with her, still can't live without the love, of my life
And, everybody knows, money comes and goes
There's never enough but it still ain't much
Without the love, of my life
[Verse 2]
I thought that I was right, for trying to be the man
I was hustling to provide, but I guess I didn't understand that
The part that I was making the living for
I dunno why, I was just givin' up
That's why she's gone, cause she's tired of fighting
And I'm tryna' find what I should do to get her back
Cause I
[Chorus 2]
I could loose a car, even my deposit
Still I'm with her, still can't live without, the love, of my life
And, everybody knows, money comes and goes
There's never enough but it still ain't much
Without the love of, (of my life)
[Bridge]
Cause right now, Uh (there ain't nothing in this world)
That matter (That is more than my girl)
So no matter what I (I gotta make it right)
Cause she's been (Since she didn't met us alone)
I hate my self no (I hate, me when I'm all alone)
I don't know if there's anything I could do
But I gotta find my way back to her heart
(Back to her heart, and)
(Then, do my part) {My heart}
(Back to her heart, and)
(To her heart)
So sorry for everything I ever did
If you leave me now, I don't think that I could handle it
I don't deserve another chance; but if you just give me one more
I'll give you a better man
[Chorus 2x]
I could loose a car, even my deposit
Still I'm with her, still can't live without, the love, of my life
And, everybody knows, money comes and goes
There's never enough but it still ain't much
Without the love, of my life
[Outro Into Moneyright]
The lyrics to Musiq's song "Loveofmylife" showcase a man reflecting on the end of a relationship with someone he deeply loved. The first verse sets the tone for the song, explaining that she is not coming back, and he doesn't know how it got this bad. The singer realizes that saying sorry too much is no longer enough, and it's only now that he understands how much she means to him, and living without her is unbearable. In the second verse, the singer recognizes his mistake of taking her for granted, hustling to provide without understanding that his living was for her. She has grown tired of fighting, and he is now trying to find a way to get her back.
The chorus emphasizes that he can lose material possessions like cars and deposits, but nothing compares to losing the love of his life. He recognizes that money comes and goes, but it still isn't significant without the love he shared with her. The mood of the song shifts in the bridge towards a pleading tone, realizing that there's nothing in this world more important than her. He hates himself when he is alone, recognizing that she is the only one that can make him feel complete. The chorus repeats twice, ending with an outro that includes the song "Moneyright."
Overall, the lyrics to "Loveofmylife" show the consequences of taking someone for granted and how losing that person can make you realize how much they mean to you. The singer recognizes that his financial and material status is not enough to compensate for the love he shared with her.
