Mustard Plug Lyrics

And I can play it every time that you are near
Been fucking bored of you
Broken windows, whats the point in not getting through?
Time to look for other things to do
You got nothing left to tell me
You got nothing left to tell
You got nothing left to sell me
Been here maybe longer than I know
All the scars and blisters start to show
Wishing for someone out of here
Running fast but still standing still
Swallow so much bad Im feeling ill
You got nothing left to tell me
You got nothing left to tell
You got nothing left to sell me
White noise ringing in my ear
You got nothing left to tell me
You got nothing left to tell
You got nothing left to sell me
White noise ringing in my ear
My ear, my ear
White noise ringing in my ear
The lyrics of Mustard Plug's "White Noise" convey a sense of frustration with a relationship that has become stagnant and unfulfilling. The opening lines "Didn't realize, stick it in my ear / And I can play it every time that you are near" suggest that the singer has found a temporary escape from their relationship troubles by listening to music or some other form of white noise. The repetition of the phrase "You got nothing left to tell me / You got nothing left to tell / You got nothing left to sell me" emphasizes the singer's dissatisfaction with their partner, suggesting that they have heard it all before and are no longer interested in what their partner has to say.
The lines "Been here maybe longer than I know / All the scars and blisters start to show" suggest that the singer has been in this relationship for a long time and it has taken a toll on them both emotionally and physically. They are "wishing for someone out of here" and feel like they are "running fast but still standing still", unable to break free from the cycle of dissatisfaction and boredom. The repetition of the phrase "White noise ringing in my ear" at the end of each stanza emphasizes the feeling of being stuck in a state of emotional and mental paralysis, unable to move forward or find fulfillment in their current situation.
Overall, the lyrics of "White Noise" convey a relatable sense of frustration and stagnation in a relationship that has lost its spark. The repetition of certain phrases and the emphasis on white noise as a coping mechanism creates a strong feeling of monotony and emotional numbness. The underlying emotion of the song is one of longing for something more, a desire for a deeper connection and a sense of purpose.
