Thank You for the Demon
Mustasch Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I´m a king without a kingdom to rule
The day I was born was the day I was doomed
But the scars that you gave me, they made me look cool
So I thank you for the demo

I´m the intruder who gave you pure hell
An outcast that all of you easily could blame
Your hate and your envy only made my ego swell
Thank you for the demon

I´m a king without a kingdom to rule...

No one listened whenever I spoke
My talent made you existentially provoked
I spent all my life being angry and choked
But I thank you for the demon

I´m a king without a kingdom to rule...

I´m grateful of the pain
The guilt and the shame
Your self-absorbed behaviour
You robbed me from my crown
But pushing me around
Made me who I am

I´m a king without a kingdom to rule
A lifetime in exile in the land of the fools

The scars that you gave me, they made me look cool
Thank you for the demon

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Mustasch's "Thank You for the Demon" speak of a person who struggles to find their place in the world. They describe themselves as a "king without a kingdom to rule", cursed from the day they were born. However, they also acknowledge that the pain and scars they've experienced have shaped them into who they are. These scars may have been caused by the people around them, who have pushed them away and made them outcasts. Yet, despite this, the singer is grateful for the pain they've endured, as it has given them strength and made them "look cool". They see themselves as an intruder who has caused "pure hell" for those who rejected them, but are thankful for the demon that dwells within them.

The song's lyrics express a sense of rebellion and defiance, as the singer refuses to be held back by the negative opinions of others. They've been ostracized by society, but have used this as an opportunity to become powerful and confident. The song highlights the idea that our struggles and hardships make us stronger, and that the pain we experience can ultimately shape us into better people.
