Blood Pressure
Mutemath Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Why can't you, be more like your older brother
Why can't you, ooh (blood pressure)
Why can't you, do a little more for Jesus
Why can't you, (blood pressure) ooh
Ah ah

Blood pressure
Do better
Keep rising
Blood pressure

You're on the road, on a road that's bound for nowhere
Why don't you do what you're told? Blood pressure

Don't worry I will help you out on one condition
Be more, do more, check your blood pressure

Ah ah

Blood pressure
Do better
Keep rising
Blood pressure

Ah ah
Oh

Blood pressure
Do better
Keep rising
Blood pressure

Blood pressure
Won't matter
Keep rising
Blood pressure

Overall Meaning

The Mutemath song "Blood Pressure" is a song that has a deeper meaning related to expectations that are placed on individuals. The lyrics suggest that the singer is making demands on another person to be more like someone else, specifically an older brother. These demands are accompanied by the repetition of the phrase "blood pressure" which acts as a metaphor for the pressure that the person feels from others to meet certain expectations.

The lyrics also suggest that the person is on a road heading towards nowhere and that they should start listening to advice. The singer offers to help the person out, but on the condition that they check their blood pressure. The repetition of the phrase "do better, keep rising" reinforces the idea that there are certain expectations that need to be met.

In essence, the song conveys a theme of societal pressure and the expectations that come along with it. The person being addressed is being pressured to live up to certain expectations, but ultimately, the song suggests that their blood pressure is what really matters. The song serves as a reminder to take care of oneself rather than constantly striving to please others.

It sucks that they removed this song from A8. Now racing in Nevada won't even feel the same anymore🤦🏾‍♂️

@proXevo

Hell yeah, I remember starting the game up, there was my trusty Dodge Dart, choose Nevada and then cycle the rock station until it got to this. Asphalt 8 has just changed too much, too many in game currencies, I miss the old version.
