The first time you watch this, it seems really sweet.
Watching it again, it's actually kinda sad.
They have their spats in the beginning, but at the end, they all just smile. So... happy ending right? The ending is so ambiguous, though.
Are they REALLY happy at the end, or is it because their picture is about to be taken?

Created by the filmmaking collective Bangs — responsible for artfully unexpected clips for the likes of Autre Ne Veut, School of Seven Bells and Zola Jesus — it purposefully doesn’t highlight Lee performing. “Rarely have I seen a band playing in a video and not thought it was cheesy,” Lee says. Instead, Bangs created a series of slow-motion tableaus featuring a nuclear family getting ready to pose for a group photograph on a leaf-strewn fall day. The glacial rhythm of the editing captures each grimace and forced smile, building tension more like a photograph by Nicholas Nixon or Thomas Struth, rather than a conventional music video. Indeed, Lee notes that Ang Lee’s lauded 1997 film “The Ice Storm” came up quite a bit as a reference throughout the production process. “What I loved about this concept was that it stretches out this 15-second moment, documenting all the nuances in what was happening between these people,” Lee says. “When everyone is pretending to be happy, you actually make the worst faces, and the slo-mo captures that. It becomes this really good metaphor to depict the space between realness and artificiality.
