Muzz Lyrics

I stole away from my house despising you
Thousand years old
Thousand years old
Thousand years old
One medication, one thing to bring you over
One thing to make it nice, tonight, I'll tell you
Sometimes we seek at night and it binds us
I stole away from my house, despising you
All the trails, my love's like homeward tears
Thousand years old
One medication, one thing to bring you over
One thing to make it nice, and tonight, I'll tell you
Don't ever really need it, somehow it's taking over
Sometimes we seek at night and the light won't go
The opening lines of "Evergreen" by Muzz depict the feelings of someone who is deeply hurt and angry with their partner or lover. The repeated phrase "I stole away from my house despising you" suggests that the singer has left their home in a fit of rage and frustration, unable to bear the sight of their significant other. However, despite their anger, the next line "Thousand years old" adds a sense of timelessness to their emotions, suggesting that their pain and resentment have been building up for a long time, possibly even for centuries.
The second verse of the song describes the use of drugs to escape from one's problems. The lines "One medication, one thing to bring you over / One thing to make it nice" suggest the singer is looking for a quick fix to their emotional pain, and the phrase "sometimes we seek at night and it binds us" adds a sense of desperation to their situation. Despite their initial reluctance or reservation towards the drug, they find themselves becoming addicted or dependent upon it as "somehow it's taking over." The final lines of the song "All the trails, my love's like homeward tears / Thousand years old" imply that despite the hurt and the drugs, the singer is still deeply in love with their partner and that their love is as old as time itself.
