After some lively drumming, erratic bottle top tapping and the instant intuition that they were creating something special, the Los Angeles based collective were left with what would later become ‘Pays To Know’ -the lead single from the newly formed duo; MYPET. With both members invigorated at having met -in each other- an artistic and musical match, their mutual avant-garde prowess and passion for a sophisticated, symphonic sense became their exploratory vehicle to leave behind the confections of modern music… to revisit sound’s more animalistic fundamentals. Before they ever played a show, released a song, or finished writing for their first EP, MYPET signed a deal with the prestigious LuvLuvLuv records (Florence + The Machine & Blood Orange).
With Amy’s sleepy, woozy voice and Ray’s thudding synths, MYPET’s foundational sound stemming from symbolic chanting is coated with hi-tech defenses. The band performed their first show Mar. 26th 2013 at the Sayer’s Club in Hollywood, filling the venue to capacity and leaving a further mass of wistful fans lining the streets outside. Channeling the majesty of established acts like Portisheadand Sleigh Bells, and vigor of credible emerging acts such as York’s Battle Lines (formerly Alvin Purple) and Londonbased lot Eyes On Film, this provocative team is making all the right moves.
In a world of restriction, MYPET are a channel for permission soaked musical alchemy; alluring philosophers whose sultry charm and mastery immediately encourage any audience to connect with the overwhelming feeling of the moment. With their intention rooted in intoxicating crowds with imagery beyond the normal plane, Amy and Ray, primordial and anti-decadent, are steering a shiny ship towards global success, encouraging the populace to revel in metamorphosis, communicate beyond the realms of language and ultimately, if they dare, to seek the light hidden amid the murky darkness.

Pays To Know
MyPet Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Coming down the rabbit hole
Did you ever wonder
How it s gonna go
Coming out from under
Round you go
I got you where I want ya
Never know
Oh, I got you where I want ya
Where to go
Well this one is gonna cost ya
Pays to know
Oh, I got you where I want ya
Where to go
Well this one is gonna cost ya
Pays to know
To know
To know
Come on anaconda
Come on let me cover
I'm not gonna bite ya
I'm just gonna love ya
Tricky anaconda
Got to be the know-it-all
The weather beating on ya
Can you walk it off
Giving you a fast one
Hit the wall
I got you where I want you
Know-it-all
Know-it-all
Oh, I got you where I want ya
Where to go
Well this one is gonna cost ya
Pays to know
Oh, I got you where I want ya
Where to go
Well this one is gonna cost ya

The lyrics to MyPet's song "Pays To Know" describe a person's interactions with a tricky anaconda, which is coming down the rabbit hole. The anaconda is an elusive and dangerous creature, and the person wonders how their interaction with it will go. However, they manage to get the anaconda under their control and they never know what will happen next. The person has the anaconda where they want it, but they will never know what the future holds.
The person tries to convince the anaconda to come closer and not to be afraid. The anaconda is a know-it-all and believes it can handle the weather and difficult situations. However, the person gives the anaconda a "fast one" and it hits the wall, but they still have it where they want it. The person must pay attention and pay to know how to handle the anaconda, otherwise there will be consequences. The song is a metaphor for relationships that depend on tricky moves, strategic thinking and an understanding of the other person's desires.

Great song! I can't even begin to describe how amazing the whole soundtrack for Hemlock Grove is. I just finished season 2 and wow!
@jetsbcuzyolo90
This song is too under rated!! Hemlock Grove is one of the all time greatest pprductions from Netflix Ive ever seen. wish they'd have picked that show back up and used the characters again. each character was so deep for blossoming and mysterious. i could watch a show based on every one on them.
@AnnaStoller
Youd think its a great Show they Had a 40 Million Dollar Budget for the First Season
