Ranked as one of the greatest modern metal bands in Brazil, My Fair Lady br… Read Full Bio ↴Ranked as one of the greatest modern metal bands in Brazil, My Fair Lady brings a new musical proposal that englobes technique, quality and maturity in their compositions.

The achievements of the group should be, at first, encharged to the first two works of the band. The EP's independently managed an incredible visibility across the Internet.

This visibility has become more apparent through the various appearances of the group's print and audiovisual addition sites and the presence of its music in international web radio stations. Some members of the band made a visit to the United States where it was formed a public that today is responsible for the spread of My Fair Lady’s material overseas.

My Fair Lady aroused the interest of Fernando Quesada, Shaman’s bassist, EM&T's teacher and Ceunsp University's audio coordinator, who invited the group to record and produce their first full-length album at the Fusão VM&T Studios and Headstock Produtora in São Paulo/Brazil, which are two of the largests institutions of music and artistic production in the country.

The album was mastered at the Universal Mastering Studios in New York/United States by Vlado Meller, a leading mastering engineer in the world, whose carries in his resume such names as Frank Sinatra, Aerosmith, Metallica, Lamb of God, Slipknot, System of a Down, Slayer, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Beyoncé and many others.

Formed in 2008 by Sam Alcantara on vocals, Artur Alcantara and Felipe Faco on guitars, Lucas Beam on bass, and Rodrigo End on drums and vocals, the MFL now prepares for the release of their debut-album "Mindwalk" with the forecast for 2011.

It was actually Marni Nixon who did the singing. She was a very famous 'Ghost' singer. She was also Maria in West Side Story. If you listen closely you will hear the same voice in both these films.
I see your confusion as one of Julie Andrews's most notable roles was playing Eliza Doolittle on stage. It's a very common misconception as Julie was Iconic as Eliza and 'ghost' singers are meant to be a bit more secret.

I didn't even live in the 60's or 70's, but I still get nostalgic when I watch and hear things from those decades, hell, I can even get nostalgic from stuff from the 30's, 40's and 50's as well haha! 30's-90's was golden! After we hit 2000 it all started to go downhill.

From what I read, she wanted this role to go to Julie Andrews when she was first approached. The big wigs said they will hire Elizabeth Taylor instead. Not sure Elizabeth Taylor could have pulled this off. Audrey did a marvelous job as always.

I relate to this so much. Now, I'm fortunate; I've come up from terrible poverty and am firmly middle class. But I still feel poor, because I look around and wish I could do more for people. When Eliza said "Someones head resting on my knee!" The first tine I watched it, I thought she was talking about a dog or a cat! 😂😂😂 I was a lot younger and to me a dog was the best thing to have on your lap 😂😂 My friend was watching it with me and she had already seen it before so she just went along with it and said "The dogs name could be Peanut butter!" and now I think of that every time I hear this song haha!

The overpowering feeling just to know somewhere I'm here in this 1964 Mr George Cukor motion picture adaptation of the Broadway musical of Mr Frederick Loewe / Mr Alan Jay Lerner's most enchanting,gut-busting,and uplifting best-loved stunner "My Fair Lady".For there's no where else on earth that I would rather be - to be getting near to one of its musical highlights that has prudently-and-resplendently laid out Ms Audrey Hepburn's decisive-and-impressive character-portrayal of draggle-tailed guttersnipe / the jabbering-and-woolgathering flower-seller Eliza Doolittle. Performing her number with the unpleasant twang in front of St Paul's Church Covent Garden - as what Prof Henry Higgins has cynically and typically labelled her Cockney accent "a disgrace to the noble architecture of (St Paul's) this column" and "a cold-blooded murder of the English tongue" - the rarefied-and-vivified screen legend has explicitly brought her own spark of divine fire to the character that she's depicting. What a nimble-witted and undisputed actress she really is! Her magical change-over - from unkempt philistine flower-peddler into lambent pristine upper-cruster - is quite aesthetic,climactic,and ecstatic in detail.Ms Audrey Hepburn was the perfect choice to play Eliza Doolittle if Ms Julie Andrews another legendary silver-screen / theater icon was not to be in this hilariously entertaining-and-enlightening classic-film.

Imagique Audrey's voice wasn't used for the soundtrack, but she did have the chance to sing all the songs and she did it quite nicely. There's a version I watched somewhere.

I still think Julie would have been better. To me Audrey was too regal looking. Audrey was always very thin. Will have to think this one over. What we do know is that Julie won the Oscar and dear Audrey was not nominated. Why???

Lol no life was not easy, for them- the movie made it sweet because of her rags to riches, story but this character was from a class of people, stuck in the gutter (which was common).. you should check out the history, of Britain.

My parents took me to live plays at the Fisher and the Fohlinger. We painted ceramics, pictures. Piano lessons BEFORE we were allowed to even touch and electric guitar. The '70s and '80s were great years to be a kid.

Most of Audrey Hepburn's singing was dubbed by Marni Nixon, despite Hepburn's lengthy vocal preparation for the role. A dubber was required because Eliza Doolittle's songs were not transposed down to accommodate Hepburn's "low-mezzo voice" (as Nixon referred to it), the way Guenevere's songs were transposed down to accommodate Vanessa Redgrave's limited vocal range in Camelot (1967). Hepburn sang most of "Just You Wait," as well as the reprise to the song, showcasing her ability to sing perfectly at ease when the songs were set in a reasonable tessitura. Hepburn also sang one or two lines, elsewhere in the score, such as 'Sleep, sleep, I couldn't sleep tonight!' in "I Could Have Danced All Night." Thus, the claim that Nixon dubbed all of Hepburn's singing (as asserted by such people as syndicated columnist Hedda Hopper) is false.

Also, Audrey Hepburn announced the assassination of John F. Kennedy to the devastated cast and crew on November 22, 1963, immediately after filming "Wouldn't It Be Loverly?" on the Covent Garden set.

There's a video on YouTube dubbing back Audrey Hepburn's own voice from some old vocal tracks researchers had found. Still, Marni Nixon did a good job, worthy of the film's success.

Even though Audrey really didn't do a bad job singing, I understand why they made the decision do have her dubbed. Because if they had just used Audrey's voice, it would've weekend what was needed in her scenes. Because even though her singing is completely serviceable, it's not big. And a song like: "Wouldn't it be Loverly", needs a big voice

It's cockney. I love it! It's brutal to learn, but it's possible after experimentation and study. The hardest part is that it's a very relaxed accent, so you have to feel comfortable in it. But then it's really fun to use!

They actually kept some parts of Audrey's original vocals. You'll notice that there's a shift in vocal quality and range in "Just You Wait." Audrey's voice is the lower one.
