From the beginning in 2008 the band has toured in Austria, Germany, Bosnia, Croatia, Great Britain, Israel, Palestine as well as the US five times. Their debut EP โLeperโ (2008) stormed the college radio charts throughout the US.
In Febuary 2010 the first full length Album โHome Is Where The Heart Breaksโ was released in Europe and the US and was supported by tourdates and a broad promotion campaign (by Rainmaker Public Relations, Gordeon Music) on both continents.
The album generated buzz in the โnew mediaโ world, so much that star producer Sylvia Massy (Prince, Red Hot Chili Peppers, REM, Johnny Cash, Toolโฆ) was turned on to the band and proposed producing their next album. January 2011 will see that happen.
The way My Glorious organise their own tours, manage themselves and have created a completely new way of living the indie band idea, attracted a lot of interest from music sites, online magazines and music biz blogs which lead to Sami becoming a sought after writer for international websites (e.g www.musikfueruns.de, www.indieonthemove.com, www.weallmakemusic.com, www.andy.artmagazine.cc, www.knowthemusicbiz.com)
Right from the start My Glorious considered themselves to be a company, and so finally, at the beginning of 2010, โMy Glorious Music Productions KGโ was founded.
The sound of the band has been described as Coldplay meets Foo Fighters and represents groove based indie rock with passsionate melodies. The lyrics dig deep below the surface and are an โhonest attempt to understand lifeโ.
โMy Glorious play music in a crowded space, I canโt even guess the number of bands I receive details from who play this style of indie rock and the vast majority sound like a poor copy of U2, if that isnโt an oxymoron in itself. So it was with a rapidly beating heart, not in a good way, that I listened to the tracks that Astrid (PR) had pointed me towards, but my fears were dispelled immediately.
What makes for a good sounding band? If there was a formula I guess everyone would sound the same, but one essential ingredient has to be passion, mixed with creativity and this comes in shovel loads from My Gloriousโฆโ
