Pi's Lullaby is a beautiful and peaceful melody, sung by one of the main characters, Pi, from the movie Life of Pi. The song is sung in Tamil, and the lyrics reflect the calmness and tranquillity that the character feels amidst the storm in the story's plot. The opening line, "Kanne Kanmaniye," which translates to "My dear beautiful one," reveals a mother's warmth as she sings to her child. The next lines, "Kann urangayo kanne," which translates to "Will you sleep my dear?" indicates the lullaby's purpose.
The second verse of the lyrics is all about nature, which is a prominent theme in the movie. The lines "Mayilo togai mayilo Kuyilo koovum kuyilo Nilavo nilavin oliyo Imayo imayin kanavo" translates to "Peacock, hummingbird, cuckoo, and the sound from the moon are all in your dream." These lines show a mystical dream-like sequence where nature is heavily involved in the scene. The following lines, "Malaro malarin amudo Kaniyo kaniyin suvayo," which can be translated to "Is it the fragrance of flowers or the wind of the forest?" reiterate the focus on nature in the song. The overall feel of the lyrics is soothing and creates a peaceful atmosphere.

Movies will never be the same again. Cancer is a bitch. Thank you for all the great masterpieces you brought us. Your legacy shall never be forgotten. Rest now, Irrfan Khan. But remember you left us so unceremoniously like the way Richard Parker did to you! You are home now. We’ll miss you 🙏💔 #RIP Irfan Khan.
