VHS
Mykey Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Walking like. Jello. hello. I know. She knows.
Chances I could get with her is zero.
Forget me like CeeLo. Goodbye, hope you had a good time.
Catch me walking home and baby off to yours yeah we go.
Ligth off. Drop your dress and you car
Keys we trought a couple old movies.
Coulds thicker. Polish off the liquor.
Just another nigth I cant remember so clear.

Empty bottles on my desk.
Left your lipstick on my neck.
Me and whiskey make a mess. Last nigth felt like a Vhs.
Call me foolish. Call me reckless.
Think I drunk called all my ex's.
Migth not ever know the rest. Last nigth felt like a Vhs.

Woke up feeling mellow, hello, I know, she knows.
Chances she will call me back is
Zero. Thougth we. Had a deal. You lied.
Not the name you god by.
But who cares. It's alrigth. You'll be back tomorrow.
Hit play, now you're me pulling me
Closer. We make you dresser fall ever.
Social sinner.
Love ain't for begginers. Just another of fine growing thinner.

Empty bottles on my desk.
Left your lipstick on my neck.
Me and wiskey make a mess. Last nigth felt like a Vhs.
Call me foolish. Call me reckless.
Think I drunk called all my ex's.
Migth not ever know the rest. Last nigth felt like a Vhs.

I like a Vhs, Iast nigth felt like a Vhs. I like a Vhs,

Last nigth felt like a Vhs. I like a Vhs,
Iast nigth felt like a Vhs. I like a Vhs, last nigth felt like a Vhs

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Mykey's song "Vhs" depict a night of passion, alcohol and reckless behavior. The singer is reminiscing about the previous night, which he equates to a VHS, a technology that has become outdated and obsolete. He laments not being able to remember all of the details of the night, but he paints a vivid picture of his state of mind.

He starts by describing himself as walking like jello, a humorous metaphor to convey how unsteady and wobbly he was. He then talks about a woman whom he knows but realizes that his chances of being with her are zero. He tells her goodbye, hoping she had a good time, but there's a lingering sense of regret in his tone. He remembers walking home with her, and they watch old movies together while drinking liquor from empty bottles. The clouds are thicker, which could mean that his memory is becoming hazy.

The second verse describes the aftermath of the night. He woke up feeling mellow, with the knowledge that the woman is not likely to call him back. He remembers making a deal with her, which she broke, but the singer seems to brush it off. When he hears the VHS player hit play, it triggers memories of the two of them getting close, and the dresser falling over, indicating that the night was passionate and chaotic. However, despite his bravado, the singer seems to feel like love is not for beginners, implying that he's not entirely in control of his emotions.

Overall, "Vhs" is a song about the thrill and recklessness of youth, but also about the consequences and regrets that come with it. The singer seems to be aware of his mistakes, but he's also trying to enjoy the moment and forget about his worries.

Mikey! I randomly found this project today and almost cried. It’s been years since we talked but we were boys back in high school and played in so many bands together I can’t even recall how many. I still always remember these words from you when I dropped my first song back in 9th grade: “how do you do that with your voice?” And it encouraged me to keep on singing. You were always a great guy and I remembered that long after I left Wootton. It’s great to see you & Axel doin it up, have never known anyone from grade school who got out there and did anything like this with their skills. It’s an honor to see you making use of that. Love u brother, keep up the great work!!
