this is a brilliant piece of music transcribed by herself and transcribing isnt easy trust me do it myself. + its virtualy impossible to shred on a piano without damaging it or making it sounds a mess. very few pro pianists can fully shred on a piano.

She has performed both solo and with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, I believe in the United Kingdom. I hear what you say about her diversifying and performing both popular music and doing some advertising. I see no problem in this as they are no doubt very good earners and make much more cash than be made from classical music. In other words she has been pretty successful, I think this might be your problem. People will always envy those who unlike themselves have achieved fame and fortune

Classical is only supposed to be fresh when its first composed, it didn't sound bad to be but its just not Toccata and Fugue and it's a genre of music I can't identify, doesn't mean it's bad. Just not How it's meant to be.

In the old days when people were smart and creative, we introduced classical music via Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd. Whatever it takes to spread the knowledge. Now, people are more sophisticated and this is AMAZING! So wonderful.

I think she plays the piano rather well. She's classically trained, and I'm pretty sure that since she is classically trained she could play the actual piece in full on an organ. But I think she probably deliberately remixed it, so that contemporary music lovers could find an interest in classical music. Plus, she also has many other interests besides music (modeling, reality TV etc). But yes, it is easy to attract huge praise, I get loads of praise but I don't think I'm that great.

As I said, Bach was an innovator and had he been alive today he may well have welcomed this very interesting interpretation of his work. Many of those without his vision but who nevertheless claim to know what he would or wouldn't have liked don't have the faintest idea what view he might have taken on the subject. They therefore transfer their own thoughts onto him. If he were here now I think he might have taken pleasure in kicking a few of their arses for their sheer impertinence

its not actually that difficult if you know the piece you're playing, i often close my eyes while playing - it helps your muscle memory

Hi, yes i do know this work and have heard it performed many times by Schneider, Olivera, Richter and many others. This is a different take on it. This is a deliberate,highly stylized version and is not intended to be true representation. What it does however is to introduce people to the world of classical music who would might never have bothered, and who often go on to take a greater interest. She graduated from the Royal Academy of Music and performed as a concert pianist before moving on.

Valerie Wren, you talk about Wang perfecting her piano playing since the age of six but no mention of how Myleene started learning at the age of four to play piano and violin and then at aged 12 also added harp, meaning she is has 3 instruments to train with instead of just the 1 like Wang. Myleele also has other jobs she does such as presenting oh and being a mum.

Notwithstanding the controversy slating that this play is a pop version of the melody while on the other hand it’s a classical piece and therefore kinda strict how it should have been performed (sigh), whenever my mood swinging into wrong direction or moving towards unexpected blow, I always have this a listen. Lost count at times.

@Chakiejan Depends what you mean by a pro. She studied at the Guildhall School of Music and later graduated from the Royal Academy of Music. Yes her hand positions are unconventional but I think this has been done with deliberation to achieve specific effect. Many of the better musicians over the years have flouted conventions which after all were only someone's past ideas of how an instrument should be played. Really good musicians often make rules rather than slavishly follow them.

Who cares? She looks seriously good. As for having instruments removed from the production and the focus being on her, so what? The production is intended to do this. She is classically trained musician, attended very prestigious music academies and can play a range of instruments. Do I detect a hint of jealousy here from a beautiful, long legged, blonde but obviously self opinionated legal student?

@Meanman332 Thank you for your reply. I think in some aspects we might just have to agree to differ. What I am perhaps against those who are afraid to try something different. Music evolves over time and new ideas can be introduced which don't replace the original ones but merely add to the repetoire. I call Bach innovative because if he were to return to the 21st century, I believe he would not be against people experimenting with his work. In many ways he was ahead of his time.

@simonbaber Totally disagree. Bach was not just a genius who produced a wealth of beautiful music . He was also an innovater, a man often ahead of his time, and someone who was certainly never afraid to try something new. Far from turning in his grave I think he would have loved this interpretation of his work and at the same time stuck two fingers up at the bunch of old farts who inhabit the world of classical music and claim to represent his interests.

@STorpedo to be able to write sheet music from listening is DEFINITELY not basic theory. i am currently doing a masters degree and we did not learn writing sheet music correctly till a while ago because its easy to learn each individual section of theory but its hard to put it together. and the owner has not released it because variation require a different copyright license while paying royalties but currently nobody owns the rights to the original Bach composition

Yes you could twitch your fingers but I doubt if you can actually play. This of course is a purposely glamourised presentation with a good deal of artistic license - something I thought you might have realized. Myleene is a classically trained musician who studied at both the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and at the Royal Academy of Music, and plays a number of instruments You may be able to sit by a fan and twitch a bit, but somehow I doubt if you could turn me on me like she does

@Meanman332 This totally confirms everything I thought about musical purists. A total preoccupation with the mechanics of something. An attempt to turn art into science. All style and no soul. (similar to fur hat and no knickers) , or to put it another way, style before substance - something much beloved by politicians. I couldn't give a toss if she performs it standing on her head and plays with her toes as long as I like it. As for boring - there's nothing more boring than a closed mind.
