No Turning Back
Myrath Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

All the failures I had, all the things that I regret.
Dirty deeds that I have to forget
No turning back.
Now my choices I have made
Standing tall, I will not be afraid.

Those things I left behind
Like the dust swept by the wind.
Could I stand with no fear?
Even though it might be hard.

Life is a game you can always play until you die.
I won't give up, I'll carry on and fight.
Like a lightning that strikes to shine on the darkest night,
Believe in my faith, survive the deepest dark.

Here I find myself walking down this lonely street.
My regrets are now all gone, no more despair.
I think that now I'm freed, I finally see the end.

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Myrath's song "No Turning Back" touch upon the themes of regret, forgiveness, and perseverance in the face of darkness. The opening lines show the singer reflecting on past mistakes and actions he wishes he could forget, but ultimately declares that he cannot turn back from the choices he's made. He resolves to stand tall and face his circumstances with bravery, even if this is difficult. The metaphor of leaving things behind like dust swept by the wind suggests that there is a sense of liberation in letting go of one's baggage, but the singer acknowledges that this takes courage and may not come easily.

The lyrics then shift to a more hopeful tone, as the singer recognizes that life is a game one can play until the end, and declares that he won't give up. The metaphor of a lightning strike suggests a sudden and dramatic breakthrough, and the singer uses this image to symbolize the power of his faith to guide him through dark times. He asserts that it is possible to survive even the deepest darkness by believing in oneself and persevering.

Very "Kamelot-ish"... which I suppose is flattering for that band. Myrath have their own unique sound, which I think is just as inspired. They don't really need to try to emulate another band.
