Falling in the Equinox

Glooming shadows
Cover you softly where you rest
On the mossy ground
Bathing in dew you dwell
Do not fear, the sparrows
Will guard your nest
Until October storms arise
In autumnal equinox,
Maple leaves are falling
And caress your body
In the deepest forest you lie,
Pale and alone
Leaves conceal your skin,
Even your bright eyes are hidden
Sparrows cannot see you now
You do not manage on your own,
And soon the frost will
Penetrate your tender body
Snow is falling in winter
Flakes of crystal snow
Land on your sweet brow
A star has fallen
The lyrics to Myriads' song "Falling in the Equinox" are a poignant description of a small, vulnerable creature, perhaps a baby animal, that has found a quiet resting place in the deep forest. The first stanza sets the stage: the "Lunar baby" is surrounded by "Glooming shadows" that provide a soft cover while it sleeps on the "mossy ground". The imagery is both eerie and peaceful, suggesting a sense of tranquility and stillness in the midst of darkness.
The second stanza provides more detail about the baby's surroundings. It is "Bathing in dew" and is assured that "the sparrows / Will guard your nest." This reliance on the natural world to provide protection and care is a theme that runs throughout the song. However, there is an ominous note that undercuts this feeling of security: "Until October storms arise / In autumnal equinox." The baby is aware, on some level, that the natural balance will eventually shift, and the safety it now feels will be challenged.
The final stanza delivers the gut-punch of the song. The baby is now alone, as even the sparrows cannot find it hidden under the fallen leaves. "You do not manage on your own," the singer notes, and it becomes clear that the baby's reliance on nature has become a liability. With winter comes "frost" and "Snow"; the baby's fragile body cannot endure these forces. The final line, "A star has fallen," is enigmatic but adds to the sense of loss and tragedy that permeates the lyrics.
