Somewhere Over The Rainbow
Náksi vs. Brunner Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
There's a land that I've heard of once in a lullaby
Somewhere over the rainbow skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true
Somewhere over the rainbow way up high
There's a land that I've heard of once in a lullaby
Somewhere over the rainbow skies are blue
Really do come true
The song "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" is a classic ballad that speaks to the longing for a better life or a better world. The lyrics evoke a sense of hope and longing for something that may seem out of reach. The first line introduces the idea of a place located "somewhere over the rainbow" that is high up in the sky. This line sets the tone for the rest of the song, creating a sense of whimsy and imagination. The next couplet hints at the idea that this place may not be real, but rather something that was heard of in a lullaby.
The second stanza reinforces the idea that this place, wherever it may be, is a place of hope and possibility. Here, the skies are blue, and the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true. The repetition of the first stanza adds to the dreamlike quality of the song, as if the listener is being lulled into a peaceful state of mind. The song is a reminder that even in difficult times, there is always a place where hope and dreams can thrive.
Overall, "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" is a song about the power of imagination and the hope for a better life. The lyrics evoke a sense of longing and desire for a place beyond the confines of everyday life, reminding us that we all have the power to dream and imagine a better world.
