1) North America South America, an international collective of musicians spanning a wide spectrum of musical genres, centered around Squeak E. Clean (Sam Spiegel) and DJ Zegon (Ze Gonzales). Sam and Ze met in April of 2003 at a friend's studio and began making music together the following day.
At first they sampled rare Brazilian records from the 60's and 70's to make tracks. However, what started as two crate diggers making music for the fun of it soon developed into something much bigger. Having forged a strong friendship through their passion for music, Sam and Ze decided to make a record with all of their heroes and favorite musicians.
The idea was to bring people from different worlds together through their shared inspiration and love of music. Thus N.A.S.A. was born, with crazy collaborations like Ol' Dirty Bastard (Wu-Tang Clan), Karen O (Yeah Yeah Yeahs), and Fatlip (Pharcyde) on one track, David Byrne (Talking Heads), Chali 2na (Jurassic 5), and Gift of Gab (Blackalicious) on another, and even the unlikely pairing of Tom Waits and Kool Keith.
Soon Sam and Ze realized they could expand the concept to encompass an entire record. The idea is to ignore all of the boundaries and borders that are in place to keep people divided, such as musical genre, race, politics, geography, language, etc. As a result, they gathered the craziest and most eclectic collection of musicians ever assembled on one album in the hope that they can show, through music, that all those superficial divisions are an illusion.
N.A.S.A. proves we are all one race of human beings interested in collaboration and unity, ignoring preconceptions, and transcending genre definitions.

I will not be accountable for what comes out, uh
I dunno, I might have said it
I was kinda gone and light-headed
And my jacket kinda fresh bright reded
And as usual my pants tight-threaded
It seem like everybody dress tight now
And I just want my credit
I am the king and will not beheaded,
To the mall no time soon, brethren
Being broke made my head hurt
So I need the bread or an Excedrin,
That'll only get my engine revvin'
While y'all on ten, I'm on eleven
I'm a make the news, be on at seven
Matter fact I'm on this very second
I'm in first and y'all in second.
And this verse only add to the freshness
Call the club, tell them add to the guest list
What you think? Way more bitches?
I can never be too big for my britches
Y'all motherfuckas know who this is
I'm gifted,
Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas
I'm armed with pens, and I got my rhymes
Whatever comes, I write it down
So knock me out and shoot me down
With mics in hand, we'll stand against the test of time
You don't know my mind
Like I said a thousand times
I gotta stay ahead
Know what I'm fighting for
I leave you to your talk
Never seen my kind before
And you're all so thick-headed
Follow and I know I let it
Part of me won't let me quit
Won't let me just not say shit
So much is there to be bored with
Can't be still, I can't afford it
Try to hold it in but it make me sick,
So I spit it out say the hell with it
I dream it and I build it tall
Make a way for when it falls
I'm armed with pens, and I got my rhymes
Whatever comes, I write it down
So knock me out and shoot me down
With mics in hand, we'll stand against the test of time
I'm armed with pens, and I got my rhymes
Whatever comes, I write it down
So knock me out and shoot me down
With mics in hand, we'll stand against the
I'm armed with pens, and I got my rhymes
Whatever comes, I write it down
So knock me out and shoot me down
With mics in hand, we'll stand against the test of time
The lyrics to N.A.S.A.'s song Gifted discuss the idea of being confident in oneself as a musician and artist, even if it means being a little bit arrogant or attention-seeking. The opening lines suggest that the singer often speaks without thinking and may regret some of the things they say, but they are unapologetic about their boldness. They also note that they are aware of their own style, with references to their brightly colored jacket and tight pants. The chorus reinforces the idea that the singer is gifted and wants credit for their talents, and they are unafraid to let the world know it.
The second verse continues this theme of self-assurance, with the singer noting that they know what they are fighting for and have a clear vision of their goals. They also recognize that not everyone will understand or appreciate their art, but they refuse to be silenced or held back. The repetition of the phrase "I'm armed with pens, and I got my rhymes" highlights the importance of writing and self-expression to the singer, and they are determined to make their mark on the world.
Overall, Gifted is a bold and confident statement about the power of creativity and the importance of owning one's talents and abilities.

mental disorders don't just go away because you're famous. when you're going through some breakdowns it's hard hard.. that doesn't mean that you don't have to be accountable for actions but, it's harder to judge when people like to push people in the spotlight to their limits...
