It’s very hard to explain specific results with NMN. It’s something that IMO should be taken for a good length of time. Unfortunately I’m also making sure to not make claims because it’s a supplement that could be misconstrued. So in short, my personal, anecdotal experience has been a much clearer feeling, I seem to be sleeping harder (more efficient perhaps), I definitely am more alert first thing in the morning, very little ramp up period in the morning. I’ll keep everyone posted as time goes on. But this has been a very heavily requested topic. So please understand the goal is to educate and share my experience WHY I am taking it.

My father has chronic arthritis. After a couple of weeks of taking NMN, his pain reduced dramatically. He no longer needs to raise his feet in bed, his knees don't give him any trouble and his fingers are now working again properly. He can't believe it.
If you're considering trying these, I highly recommend it as I've watched my father struggle for years with his arthritis and it is wonderful to see him moving around with ease and smiling so much more. It needs to be 1g NMN with 0.5g resveratrol. I've been doing this for ages now and it *does make a difference. I feel better in many ways; I can think and concentrate more easily, it's easier to keep fit and it's taken Years off my appearance. Also my hair is thicker.

I’ve been getting off meds and even felt tired just walking. It’s been HELL. I just started taking NMN+ and I actually had energy to walk my dogs today and feel like I can run a mile! I’m not sure how long this will last but I’m taking advantage of it. I got a months worth and will keep taking it. Even if it only works today just having the energy is a godsend. There are so many mixed reports on taking NMN and I'm inclined to think that if you don't get a noticeable result from it within a few days of starting, then you probably don't need it.
My own experience is that NMN has totally changed my life from the second day I started it. I'm 59 BTW.

He’s well versed in molecular pathophysiology especially in the areas of metabolism and endocrine function... and presents info quite competently. He gladly redacts previous info when appropriate and amends his content with new info. There are plenty of credentialed individuals and scientists who can’t or won’t think forward or outside of the box. Their breadth of knowledge ended with their formal education or the parameters of certain funded research. I have no qualms about checking his sources, doing my own research, or fast forwarding through any corny endorsements. And he happens to have sales and marketing nailed. Good on him. Thank you.

one example of my diet that I've been doing I've been doing mostly now 19 hour fasting which gives me 5 hours for eating, well I take my supplements when I get up in the morning and do some exercise supplements include with an empty stomach 'resveratrol and NMN' and two or three other supplements, and whey protein with orange juice, and collagen powder with vitamin C. Then from 3:30 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. I eat first cereals then some fresh fruit and some snacks mostly nuts, then later fix myself some bamatsi 🍚 rice and sweet potato🍠 and a piece of salmon or some shrimp steamed or veggie protein Burger and broccoli, then a little time later maybe have some more treats like a piece of cheesecake all this within 5 hours, then by 8:00 p.m. I am done eating. And so I start all over the next day at 3:30 p.m. with the diet_ I don't mean it like in a sense like a diet because I am not on a losing weight diet I don't really need to the Lord knows I've always been thin but I mean my fashion of eating has always been small since I was very young kid
But now this diet of 19 hours without eating wasn't so hard to start because I kind of was used to it anyway.

I have tried so many things to help with my energy. When I had children my energy levels dropped significantly and I have struggled with my weight. She said her blood sugar has been perfect every single day since starting it, and she really struggles with her sugar levels especially in Colorado (not sure if it’s the elevation, she has better control when she’s in KY which she lives on and off in both places). I had a mole like growth on my head that I was contemplating getting cut out by a skin doctor. It had been on my head for a few years.I had nmn in my cupboard and some reversatrol for 6 months. And thought I’d start using it. With no thought to the mole on my head at all. Within a month, the mole had disappeared to the point where there’s like a small indent pock mark, like akin to acne scar where the mole was. I fully believe in this product. I vaguely remember looking into the subject of NR and finding the food source for NR having something to do with blueberries or maybe some way blueberries were used assist and to enhance its effectiveness... sort of like the specialized resveratrol was with the nmn supplement.
I thought that I'd post this because in many of your posts you usually mention the food source for a lot of the supplements and trace minerals and amino acids and I think that knowing the source can be so much mote helpful because at the user end it makes decision making over whether or not to take it and what to expect alot easier when it comes down to considering alaergies, or profound effects that may be good or bad rather than going on an uninformed trial and error basis or wasting money cause you already get enough in your diet..
Also being informed as to weather or not if the supplement is some type of synthetic substitute or if its a natural derivative of a plant or animal... is very helpful information.. and I find myself watching your posts more often to find out about a lot of this type info..

Thomas, Dr. Sinclair also made a point that NMN requires a fat to enable the absorption so he mixes his powder with a small amount of plain high fat yogurt he makes himself. In addition, the dose he takes is 1 gram of NMN and 1 gram of Resveratrol every day. I highly recommend Dr. Sinclair's new book "Lifespan" for anyone who wants to know more.

Hey Thomas, David Sinclair's dosage is 1000mg for both NMN and Reservatrol - these caspules are only 125mg each. This would mean one bottle would be about a one week supply. NMN supplement is perfect for older people like me. I’m already 65 and has been taking NMN-vitruvin (250mg) for almost half a year. Before this, I couldn’t dare to walk long hours in the mall while shopping with my granddaughters. It’s awful. Update for NMN users - As we mentioned earlier, we had been experiencing embarrassing gas from our Toniiq NMN & Resveratrol powder. We attempted various approaches such as adding yogurt or not, blending it into a smoothie, dissolve in olive oil, or taking it directly under the tongue, but the issue persisted until we reduced the amount significantly. We suspect that the problem arises from one component being oil-soluble while the other is water-soluble, yet they are combined in Toniiq's formulation. It seems to be a clever solution, but it may not work for everyone. To resolve the issue, we have been experimenting with Niacin (FLUSH) and Resveratrol individually. We open the capsule and place it under the tongue, resulting in no more gas and being much less expensive. We hope this information is helpful.

my grandma is 93 and gets called my moms sister and its her daughter,she looks in her 70s,but has energy of a 50 year old,,shes been in the British Colombia post 3-4 times for her active age,and ive watched her my whole life maintain a perfect weight throu proper eating,she has never taken medication but asprin,my grandpa took her off the medical cuz she never used it in 30 years lol never smoked,and never drank alc,or coffee ,she only uses glasses for reading,so combination of genetics,and her lifestyle contributed to her longevity im assuming?

Yes, there is a problem with bioavailability of resveratrol, but it seems they have sublingual resveratrol now that is much better absorbed. It is hard to find though.

The main reason you hear about NMN is because there's money to be made selling it. Niacin and Nicotinamide are also NAD precursors which straight up nobody talks about because it's super cheap to make. No profit there. Nicotinamide Riboside is only stable in a patented chloride formula of which Niagen holds the patent. So only one company makes money there. NMN on the other hand has no patent on it and it sells for a high price. But truth is by the time it gets to you, it's mostly nicotinamide anyways.

I see that NMN is a derivative of B3, which I'm already using. I also see that NMN is completely beyond my budget, even with your 20% off code.
Q1: Is there a chance that the B3 provides any of the benefits of NMN? (obviously not to the same degree but...)

@Jill L Unfortunately, NAD doesn't get absorbed. There's no known mammalian transporter for it to enter the cells. Thomas talks about the lack of bioavailability of NAD briefly in this video!

John Smith NMN gets directly taken up into the cell by a transporter, SLC12A8. Niacinamide aka nicotinamide or vit. B3 lacks the sugar and the phosphate that NMN has, components cells use to make NAD. In mice, we see lifespan extension with NMN (unpublished) but not with niacinamide

There is a "but" however. Verso's product is so underdosed that's it's not even funny - at least if you follow the guidelines that Dr. David Sinclair gives himself. I hope that this changes as NMN gains popularity.

Interesting information Thomas - thank you. I'd like to know your thoughts on the following: Instead of taking the expensive NMN and/or NR, why not take the NAD+ supplement directly. I saw that a company by the name of Corllia makes a Liposomal NAD+ supplement in a 500 mg dose, combined with 250 mg TMG. The container explicitly says "Actual NAD+, NOT Precursor". Is the body not able to absorb NAD+ directly?

That's correct. Check with David Sinclair on this. The NAD+ molecule is too large to absorb properly. So you need to use a precursor.

I also take NMN, 1-2 grams a day, with water . for about a year . Saw afew lectures from David Sinclair . Im 43, and feel like ....... 30 . For sports people this would be like GOLD . You need about 1 kilo of food every day, and atleast 1 liter of water . 1 gram of NMN is like eating 100 avocados . Avocado is very good food . You need a beer to get a certain feeling , and a smoke to get that other feeling . NMN gives another effect, energy, motivation, Id say you get positive in the brain too . Consume molecules to obtain an effect . No side effects (!) , a natural molecule in every bological organism . I also take Reservatrol a few times a week. 4-5 grams a week . I buy in generic powder from china . Not pills . Im shure I am the first in my country to test this out, maybe someone in Sweden or Denmark ? And all my friends, family , I recommend it and theyr like . ... no . And get comments like, who on earth would want to speak to you when your 200 years old ! For snack I eat canned sardines .

@pullmyniblets I just started taking it 4 months ago after shattering my kneecap and the recovery is going very well. But no huge changes like super strength. I did notice wounds heal with better quality than before. But honestly, I don't feel any better or worse. I'm only taking 250mg dose, maybe I need to take at least 500mg to 1g to start seeing more effects. But it's really expensive and I kind of want to make it last before it gets completely banned in the USA.

Brad Stanfield is the Dr I'm referring to that is finding negative data on this especially on resveratrol recently and kidneys. He has some great research in his videos. Niacin is looking good for low dose supplement. But I see lots of positive on resveratrol in moderate doses

I read on another video about resveritrol that this guy stated his wife who had thyroid issues went into afib both times she attempted resveritrol. I guess he had to go to ER both times but he didn’t say why it caused it. Now I’m concerned to take it because i had a high thyroid result so I’m wondering what happened inside the heart

I ordered good quality NMN and Resveratrol from longevity box in the UK. Thought I’d give it a go. Only took 0.5 of each early morning 6.30am. After 3 days, my energy levels were way too high! Left me with serious insomnia! Which I’m not down with at all!!…. I’m only 40? Maybe it’s best as you get older?…So Iv stopped taking it, and maybe give it another try once I’m 50!! That’s if it hasn’t been banned by then!

Yes, for me it seems to activate the fight or flight adrenaline type energy. It really messed up my sleep. I already have thyroid/adrenal issues. I cut back from half gram to 250. It still feels like a bit much. Hoping I can get some decent sleep tonight.

just a comment from my research. Verso provides 250 mg NMN per (2?) capsules (from their website). According to the research I have seen, an optimal daily dose is around 600mg per day - that would be (6?) capsules? starts getting expensive and also a lot of capsules.

If you take MNM or Nr. You need to also take TMZ to protect your methyl groups 100mg per every 200mg of MNM or NR you can also take apigenin to reduce CP38 that causes NAD declines 1000mg when taking NMN orNr so you only need to take 500mg. Of NMN or NR

Mikey, start on low doses of NMN around 100mg per day and if it creates a noticeable effect within a couple of days, start experimenting to find the doseage that works best for you. Please see my comment under his post above as to my experience with it. It's fantastic and I couldn't live without it (no pun intended!).

1) How does a gene SLC 12A8 directly increase absorption? Like what is MOA?
2) How do you know what cell is getting the NMN? Like muscle and adipose cells over heart and kidney cells
3) Once absorbed from your GI tract what carries NMN from the blood to intracellular? Are intercellular molecules like NMN-> NAD stable in the blood and are there carrier proteins transporting them.
4) Lastly, longevity (anti-aging) has to do with gene replication and Telomerase lengths so how does NMN--> NAD lead to longer cell life?

so NMN gets convered in the cell to NR - nicotinamide riboside. Im aware of an NAD+ supplement (called Elysium) that combines NR and a resverstrol-related compound called pterostilbene. There is some research on this combination which I delved into in some videos but Ive not seen it compared to NR alone. Resverstrol was the "NMN of the 1990s" but has since fallen out of favor as you;d have to consume a boatload a day to make a difference. If you want to use it that's fine. its just that I don't see any human evidence the combo would raise NAD+ better than NMN (or NR) alone. If you want to see the results of human NMN clinical trials I have them on my YT page. I hope this helps.

AAGGGHHHH I hate the fact its sponsored but love the discussion. Been taking pure Resveratrol with yogurt since around 2010 and will occasionally pop on the internet to check out what people are discussing around nmn and Resveratrol. Great to see it discussed. Wish Sinclair would just make a supplement cocktail thats addable to protein shakes. If youre not intaking protein on a daily basis you're missing out on ALOT. Its easy to throw in bulk supplements too

Ps edit I land on the higher end of these molecules. More the merrier. Used to be so expensive back in the day for Resveratrol. Had to go through chemistry departments to order in bulk. Thomas Id recommend either getting ahold of Sinclair or a member of his team and privately discuss with them the amounts of which theyre taking these molecules. Lol these are the smartest guys in the world and it could shock you a little. It is not something they take lightly and you need to go see the mice.

Personal story: I never had worse headaches than when I took NMN. It was the only supplement I added. Any time my heart rate spiked (working out) I had the WORST tension headaches. Taking it out, they went away after a week.

You definitely had something else then NMN. It's expensive to buy good thing... Actually my rest heart rate came down from above 80 to 66-69 overnight... No joke. It stays in that range since then even if I don't take NMN! Truly said I was very worried about my health and it was unexpected because I bought it for anti-aging... ANd sometimes my tachycardia was close to 100... Unfortunately mine NMN cellulose in it... But I guess could be worse - I will keep buying this brand. ;P

NMN isn’t going to make you “feel” a certain way. The focus of NMN supplementation is to mitigate the risks of age related morbidity as the years tick away. Hopefully will help you be a healthier 85 year old compared to not taking. But won’t do anything now in terms of altering how you feel.

Well, look at more recent papers on NMN and cancer progression. Quite off putting, will wait until there is more human studies. Been taking it almost a year with cold storage, sublingual and not etc... didn’t see any effects at all neither vo2 Max or anything else. Might give it another go in a couple of years if it’s actually proven worth the hype, safe and effective in humans. maybe one has to be really old to feel the difference? Definitely more questions than answers with this supplement

Thomas do you take TMG along with the NMN? I ask because I have recently bought NMN and trans-resveratrol but I discovered that NMN depletes the Methyl groups so a methyl supplement needs to be taken. I thought I could top it up with B12 Methycobliem or methyl folate but that too can have a negative effect. TMG rases my stomach acid and give me heart burn....any ideas?

@V1ktorr Yeah I tried it and then I stopped taking it because I did not feel any benefits. I am now taking Glutathione and Vit C which is amazing. It has cleared up broken capillaries caused by BP medication, cleared up the biliruben deposited under the skin plus it stopped the throbbing in my ankle. I am now going to take Tudca, to support the gallbladder and liver... just waiting for the delivery. Lockdown was a horrible time for me and my health.

@V1ktorr Now foods glutathione and Vitamin C (as Ascorbic Acid), L-Glycine, L-Proline, L-Lysine, Hydrolised Marine Collagen. The combination has worked well for me. I know n the liposomal form of Glutathione is better however I cannot afford it. I took Tudca today and the pain in my shoulder went after a few hours, its early days for that particular supplement .

@LizzieWhiz Interesting, I've personally been experimenting with Tudca lately and must say it's one of the few legitimate supplements out there that actually works ;) Also been breathing in Brown's Gas / Hydroxy (2/3 Hydrogen 1/3 Oxygen) from the Aqua Cure AC50 which has been ABSOLUTELY LIFE CHANGING!
