get down
N.O.R.E. - www.partofstyle.com Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Ya, let's get down to it
Uh uh let's go

지금 이 순간 다신 오지 않아
너의 말들도 내 가슴에 담아
This is just for you
We are in the same boat
So everybody, let's get down to it
So everybody, let's have fun together
So everybody, let's get down to it
So everybody, let's have fun together

This is just for you
We are in the same boat

This is just for you
We are in the same boat

Overall Meaning

In N.O.R.E.'s song Get Down, the lyrics describe a tumultuous relationship with someone who is described as a "bad dog baby." The singer tells this person to "get down" multiple times, indicating a need for them to calm down or back off. However, despite the person's negative qualities, the singer admits that they still want them around.

The second verse suggests that the singer used to be happier, possibly because they used to drink wine. But now, they are like a "cat on a hot tin roof," meaning they are nervous and uneasy. This change in behavior is attributed to the person they are singing to, suggesting that they are causing the singer's anxiety.

The chorus repeats the message of the song; the singer wants the person to "get down" because they are too intense or aggressive, but they still want them around anyway.

This guy is just a joy to watch. I've just started listening to Steely Dan and realised what a great guitarist this is. But there's also so many good points that he makes -- they just keep coming at a rapid rate and he makes them in a very articulate and fun way. Not only a superb guitarist but also an analytical thinker and communicator.

Love this! I remember Skunk Baxter from his days in Ultimate Spinach. He's had quite a career since then. Now he's even a DOD consultant. A very smart guy and a hard worker. What a guitar player. An inspiration to young and old alike.

What a treat it is to see this guitar genius in this venue. From the first time I heard Jeff with Steely Dan I was hooked on him and Denny. I don't think we will ever see a duo like those two again.
