my dad was a merchant marine i swear the stories he could tell would amaze everyone..i told him he needs to write a non fiction book about his life... anyway he has been all over the world and i think he was in south america at a motel he said he developed street smart and street skills over the years and he spotted a group of young men, total gang for sure, but he said he could always tell when men were armed cuz they were overly confident and in an area like that that's a huge sign they are packing and they were also picking their teeth with switch blade knives lol... they not only were calm and confident but also overly cocky...u should have to be aware of your surroundings...thats how my dad was able to survive decades of travel especially overseas....

And that's the odd confluence in that it's absolutely cosmopolitan but it's scant moments away from farms. I remember when we moved from South Shore to Country Club Hills, it was like another world to me. Aurora and Elgin are odd historically. Harvey is the South Side of the South Side (super-grimy). Markham is chill. CCHills, Hazel Crest, University Park and Matteson are bourgeois to an extent. Florida open carry law only applies on public property, not private property lol. You can't walk into a convenience store or a bank holding your weapon. Also open carry law usually says your gun has to be holstered or on a sling. Don't spread misinformation if you dont quite know the law. Also if he was charged with a prohibited weapon he was most likely a felon.

He's not covering his face, he never aimed it upward or attempted robbery, he could claim that he was carrying for self-defense. As for the other charge, if he's not allowed to open carry, then he's not allowed to open carry, but in what way is he carrying a prohibited weapon? I'm guessing it's unregistered, stolen, or he's personally not allowed to have it based on prior convictions, otherwise you couldn't even stick that charge. Anyway, he's not getting a good lawyer, I seriously doubt he can afford one, he's getting a public defender, if by chance he happens to get a half-way competent one, he should at least be able to plead down and get rid of the attempted robbery charge.

The robber got shot, ran outside, and was screaming "HE SHOT MY ARM OFF! HE SHOT MY ARM OFF!"
It was actually hilarious, because one of the other robbers who was getting out of the car, to enter the store, knocked him down as he was getting into the car, while it was moving.
I laughed, and laughed, as I replayed it.

The fact that the clerk was paying attention to the cameras, and knew the man was armed before he came inside, diffused the entire situation. This criminal clearly had no stomach for a gun fight where he might lose, especially when he only had like 6 shells max in his "huge gun".

He brought the gun in to rob the store until he saw the clerk was armed. Then he started craw fishing..... He came to rob the store, He brought a freaking rifle into the store. If he wasn't going to rob the store he would have left the rifle in the car.

Or chased down unarmed and killed by armed assailants while he was going back to the place he's staying after buying tea and some candy. Trevon Martin was just a kid when he was chased then gunned down. Same with Ahmaud Arbery So I get it. My older sister was robbed at gunpoint in Florida after all too so I don't blame anyone for thinking they need to arm up to secure your own safety in the south.

I am from Chicago and still living here, and I can tell you when a robbery occurs, they are always pointing a weapon first, their face is covered, demands are made, usually screaming with bad language, and usually have a second person as a lookout, and there is no polite conversation, nor do they tell you where they are from. This is different from a 10-50 person crash & grab that also can occur. I am still waiting to see a video of attempted robbery, when you get one please upload a.s.a.p

He just didn't SEE any clerk to make demands from, until the clerk had a gun pointing at him -- and that's the only reason he was so polite. You get REAL polite upon realizing someone GOT THE DROP ON YOU, making you the dumbest robber outside of Sheetcago. Go on, keep making excuses for your "brother." He got arrested on other charges, because having a longarm inside a store when you have prior felonies & when the store posts in the window that u better not bring YOUR gun into THEIR establishment is still illegal since it's a PRECURSOR to a robbery or murder.
