The band formed in 2009, when Agin crossed paths with guitarist William T. Cook in Nashville. Surrounded by the rootsy twang of country singers and Americana bands, the two began whipping up a different sound, one that relied heavily on mood, melody and motion pictures. They didn’t just write songs. They created complex backstories for each tune, digging deep into their collective imagination and conjuring up fictional characters, plot lines and landscapes. Those backstories helped inspire the band’s symbolic clothing and stage setup, too, transforming Neulore’s concerts from routine gigs into actual experiences.
Neulore have pushed the limits of their own creativity to tell a story filled with beauty, love, pain and passion. They have fashioned sound and spirit, wood and string, current and wire to bring lyric to life. The result is a collection of songs that have become as beautiful as the story they seek to share.
Neulore are servants of the story, interpreters of an ancient tradition. The timeless story, told in modern tones.
With “Shadow of a Man,” the album’s lead single, receiving airplay on nationwide radio stations (as well as TV shows like Grey’s Anatomy, which premiered the song in 2013), NEULORE is getting ready to take the battlefield. The band’s name -- a combination of the German prefix “neu,” meaning “new,” and the latter half of “folklore” -- says it all. This is a new story, a new tradition... and Animal Evolve is the first chapter.
This is Neulore – the beginning of a tradition.

NEULORE Lyrics

The sun finds hope in
when you pray for rain
it's such a broken sight
But don't worry
Of our love
We'll never bend enough
If we never bend our knees
we'll never see what's underneath
If we close our hands to reach
we'll never hold beginnings
You can't run with standing feet
Not when you lost your belief
We're on a garden trail
That leads us back to
where golden apples fell
A story of ourselves
Lord don't tempt me
I am weak
Please write this song I sing
If we never bend our knees
we'll never see what's underneath
If we close our hands to reach
we'll never hold beginnings
You can't run with standing feet
Not when you lost your belief
You can't run with standing feet
Not when you lost your belief
Not when you lost your belief
You can't run with standing feet
Not when you lost your belief
Not when you lost your belief
You can't run with standing feet
Not when you lost your belief
Not when you lost your belief
Your belief
In Neulore's song "Apples (When You Lost Your Belief)," the lyrics touch on themes of perseverance, faith, and the importance of keeping an open mind. The beginning of the song warns against trying to hide or ignore one's own shameful experiences or mistakes. Instead, the lyrics suggest that it is necessary to acknowledge one's faults and seek a path towards forgiveness and redemption. The following lines suggest that even in times of darkness, hope can be found in prayer and in seeking guidance from a higher power.
The chorus emphasizes the importance of humility and the willingness to bend and reach out for new beginnings. The lines "if we never bend our knees, we'll never see what's underneath" suggest that a person must be humble enough to ask for help or guidance in order to truly understand themselves and the world around them. Additionally, the final lines of the song make it clear that a lack of belief in oneself or the world around us can leave us feeling stagnant and unable to move forward.
Overall, the song suggests that even in the darkest of times, there is always a chance for redemption and hope, but it requires the humility to acknowledge our own shortcomings and the courage to keep moving forward.
