It's ridiculous that people think pursuing passion and creativity is foolish

I thought all you had to do was get a record deal and yo things start moving
I had a misguided idea of how to achieve success in music and thought getting signed was the only way

But that's not the case because most of the times the artists you hear
Many successful artists have a long, often difficult path to success and hard work to achieve their goals

You keep on thinking that artist is new but that artist has probably been at it for years
Many artists may seem new or overnight successes, but they have likely been working hard, often behind the scenes, for several years

Yeah, in the back of my mind thinking
I often think about my chance of success in rap and my passion for music

Am I wasting my time dreaming
I question if my pursuit of music is a waste of time and unrealistic

And I ain't got no money in my wallet but
I may not have financial success yet, but my passion for music is worth more to me

I guarantee there ain't no way that I am gonna leave this
I won't give up on my passion for music no matter how challenging it may be

Music is vital to my happiness and fulfillment in life

I pour my emotions and hardships into my music, especially dealing with the loss of my mother to drug addiction

I've changed and grown as a person and artist, and my lyrics reflect that evolution

My music is honest and authentic, whether I'm on stage or behind the scenes

I stand behind these words I'm a Christian but I'm not perfect
My faith guides me and inspires my music, but I acknowledge that I'm not without faults

My passion for music can come across as intense, but I'm focused and committed to honing my craft
