The song LIGHT by NIKIIE is a powerful and emotional ballad that touches upon themes of separation, longing, and hope. The opening lines describe the singer grasping for something in the midst of a snowstorm, afraid to speak because of the fear of losing it all. The light of the lighthouse, which used to be a symbol of direction and home, has now begun to tilt and fade away, a metaphor for the singer's journey towards uncertainty and unknown territory. The chorus talks about the act of shining light on the darkness, reaching out for oneself, and in this case, the beloved, who the singer wishes to protect and cherish.
The second verse talks about the singer reminiscing about the past, imagining the beloved still in their usual spot, hoping that they are still there waiting. In the bridge, the singer imagines themselves hugging the beloved, promising to never let go of their frozen hands. The final line repeats the plea for the singer to stay.
Overall, the song captures the emotional journey of someone who is unsure about what lies ahead but is still willing to face it all as long as they have someone to lean on. The use of snow and light imagery adds to the atmosphere of the song, making it feel both ethereal and grounded in reality.
