Brutal Number Girl
NUMBER GIRL Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

我々は冷凍都市の攻撃を
酒飲んでかわす

諸君と平尾駅の朝6時に
戯れまくり
一九九五年から
自力を信じてます
その指令を無視しろ
南から来た俺等 好調!!

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Number Girl's song Brutal Number Girl describe the band's rebellious attitude towards society and the expectations placed upon them. The first line, "We dodge the attacks of the frozen city by drinking alcohol," suggests that the band members are trying to escape from the hardships and coldness of the modern city by using alcohol as a coping mechanism. The next line, "At 6 am on the morning of Heiwa Station with you, we'll play and fool around," shows their defiance and rejection of societal norms such as starting a day's work early in the morning.

The next line, "We've believed in ourselves since 1995," suggests that the band has been together for a long time and has always been confident in their own abilities, despite anyone's opinions or instructions. The line "Ignore those orders" further emphasizes this notion of pushing back against authority and doing things their way. Finally, the line "We are doing great coming from the south!" reinforces their self-confidence and highlights their regional identity.

Overall, the lyrics to Brutal Number Girl convey the band's strong sense of rebellion and nonconformity, as well as their belief in their own abilities and identity.

Bro, I completely underestimated this track.
It has this feeling of being up beat, but the production and album cover tell you otherwise, before Zegen Vs. Undercover comes in keeps up this up beat feel in the opening before having this jurasic, jaw dropping shift in tone that contradicts everything Number Girl had released before.
I wanna make a video about this album one day where I could could go in-depth about this album for at most 19 minutes and I honestly hope I do, this is such a great album

We are all drunks avoiding the
frozen city’s attacks

6 in the morning, men and women recklessly flirting
at Hirao Station
Ever since 1995
I’ve believed in myself
Those orders that came from the South
are being ignored. We are all doing fine!
