La sed
Nacho Vegas Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Bajo por el malecón.
Mi garganta está ajada
Y se revuelve la obsesión
Que mueve mis huesos.
Saco mi bota de curtida piel
Y bebo un fuerte licor
Pensando que tal vez
Iba a calmar la sed ...

Vuelvo a despertar aquí.
Procuro no olvidar
Y voy descendiendo más y más,
Y llego hasta esta playa
Y una mujer de ojos verdes
Se acerca a mí,
Me ofrece agua del mar, y bebí.
Pensaba yo que así
Iba a calmar la sed ...

Lejos del hogar,
¿quién se atreverá a hablar de mí
Mientras yo me canso de esperar

La copa que jamás me es servida?
Y ya, ya no puedo volver ...

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Nacho Vegas's song La Sed describe the feelings of a person who is struggling with addiction and obsession. The first verse talks about the singer walking along the boardwalk with a rough throat, feeling the urge that moves his bones. He then takes a sip of strong liquor to quench his thirst. However, the addiction doesn't fade away, as he wakes up again in the same place after sinking deeper and deeper into his addiction. The second verse describes a woman with green eyes offering him seawater to drink, but it doesn't help the singer calm his thirst. The final line reveals that he can no longer go back home, as he is trapped in his addiction.

The song's theme is struggle with addiction and self-destructive behaviour, which is further amplified by the use of dark and intense lyrics. The singer's relentless addiction doesn't let him escape and, instead, keeps him trapped in a never-ending cycle of self-destructive behaviour.
