This song grows on you, the more you hear it is the more you like!! It also has serious international dance club appeal!

SocaPhD agreed!! I can hear this banging in a club in London or anywhere in Europe or Japan 😊

This new 'Power Groovy' pace track from Nailah Blackman on the Jamette Riddim is really nice. I especially like the touch of 'French creole' words that Nailah uses in this song, makes the vibe of this song very authentic to match the theme of the song about the Damn Lorraine who was the Queen of the original Jamette Carnival mas characters during the early T&T Carnivals of the 1800's after slavery was abolished. Back in those days most of the T&T Jamette Carnival population spoke 'French creole'.
The lyric video is also a good marketing move. This song could help to stir more interest in some of our traditional mas characters like the Damn Lorraine by some of Nailah's young fans! :-)

I think "Buss Head" did so for stick fighting. I believe therefore this is a safe assumption.

If u played this song on speakers there is NO WAY you could say its not great! This is a great soca club song that you can hear during or after carnival.

First time i heard Nailah sing a piece of this song was on IG on her guitar. I loved that acoustic version. I love Anson’s riddim separately and i love Nailah’s song separately but I guess hearing them together has to grow on me. I respect her being different tho. She surely is “jeune et libre”- young and free 😊 Oooh! Another thing, I really thought she was saying “Mirez ! mirez! Mirez” instead of mi deh.... mirez is a call to look and stare, kinda low key wish she said that 😉😉

Trust me when I say. This tune has to be played LOUD!! You will see how hot this song is.

This song is very seductive!
I especially like when she sings the French/patois; I can see the Dame Lorraine inviting you to get pulverized by her mammoth appendages.
I can see the character backing up a man on a wall and beating him to death with that big bam bam.
Nailah is growing on me.... I appreciate and applaud her daring to be different! Her writing is permeated with imagery of all kinds as well and, as a Literature major, I revel in that.
Just take the "juicy pineapples" image; you get visual, gustatory (taste) , olfactory (smell) and tactile (touch) in that one line. And then just think about the recommendation/ myth that women should eat pineapples if they want to enhance their feminine attar, especially before a re
The riddim also reminds me of Olatunji's "Bam Bam".

If Nailah makes a music video for this song set in the mid to late 1800's (after slavery was abolished) with some big bottom Dame Lorraine's celebrating J'ouvert morning during the Jamette Carnival in T&T and causing a spectacle for the onlookers then everyone will understand the history lesson in this song and it can even take off as an international hit.
It will also be good to get a J'ouvert road mix for this song! ;-)

Well done to Nailah Blackman and Anson Pro on this song getting to over 100K in YouTube views in exactly 2 months of it being uploaded to this YouTube channel.
This soca track has a nice dance club vibe to it which could see it doing well in mainstream music clubs with the right marketing and promotion. Looking forward to seeing a good music video for this song soon as I've heard rumours that a music video is coming.
