After scoring big in their own country, with such hits as "Endless Conversations", "Movin' On" and "Together", from their debut album '12 TO GO', the boys decided to give the rest of the world a shot.
Their performance at the 2004 TMF awards (where lead singer Niko amused the crowd by stripping on stage and prancing around in a thong) caused Avril Lavigne to ask them to open for her on her Japan tour.
The band's influences include the bands Mest, Goldfinger, New Found Glory, Homegrown, MXPX and Green Day.
At the end of September '05, the band took part in MTV's Road Rally, in which they had to cross the USA from West coast to East Coast, earning their way and scoring shows. After starting in Los Angeles they ended up just beating Dutch competitor Di-rect in New York. When the serie was aired from November to January, it was a great hit.
The second Nailpin album "White Lies & Butterflies" was released in april 2006, while the band toured Japan for the second time.
Their newest album 'III' was released in april 2008, and got great reviews. The singles 'The Ending' and 'It's Allright' did good in the charts.
My Last Goodbye
Nailpin Lyrics

An open path or dead-end streets
Took me a while to find out which direction I should face
Left wrong turns and, oh my leaves turned early,
by which I mean to illustrate my state
Chorus:
And now it's over, there's naught ahead
Had it all planned out, the way, the day, I set the time
Well I came close to writing down
My last goodbye
Bad luck shaped me as a man
Bad breaks tore me down again
Took different shapes before I took the shape that I now am
The pressure's tense and, oh the tension's pressing,
Society's roll, took its toll again
Chorus
The pressure's tense and, oh the tension's pressing,
Society's roll, took its toll again
Chorus
Came close to my last goodbye (x4)
The lyrics of Nailpin's My Last Goodbye reflect a journey of personal growth and self-discovery, framed by the metaphor of the "roads" that the singer takes throughout their life. The first stanza describes a process of trial and error, with the singer trying out different paths and experiencing both success and failure. They reflect on the way that their experiences have shaped them, using the metaphor of leaves turning early to suggest that they have been through a lot and that this has had an impact on them. Ultimately, however, they feel as though they have found their way, and the chorus describes the sense of finality that they feel about the choices they have made: "now it's over, there's naught ahead".
The second verse delves deeper into the difficulties that the singer has faced, with the repeated line "the pressure's tense and, oh the tension's pressing" capturing the sense of stress and strain that they are under. This stress is not purely internal – the singer notes that "society's roll, took its toll again", suggesting that they have also been negatively affected by external pressures and societal expectations. Despite this, the singer seems to have found a sense of acceptance about who they are and what they have achieved, as indicated by the repeated refrain "had it all planned out".
Overall, the song is a poignant reflection on the challenges of growing up and coming to terms with oneself. The metaphor of the winding road serves to convey the sense of unpredictability and ambiguity inherent in this process, while the repeated emphasis on tension and pressure underscores the difficulties that must be overcome along the way. At heart, however, the song is ultimately hopeful, suggesting that even in the face of adversity, it is possible to find one's way and to come to a sense of peace with one's life and choices.
