1) Naked Lunch is a band from Klagenfurt, Austria, founded in 1991. They started out as an alternative rock band mixing hard rock guitars and fragile vocals. In the nineties, they connected with the German The Notwist/Weilheim musical scene with whom they still have their ties. In fact, their producer, Olaf Opal, is also a working for The Notwist.
Songs for the Exhausted was recorded after a long hiatus (a time when the band nearly collapsed) and saw the band abandon their rock roots and turn to a more experimental, electronic approach to their songs.
Today, they have a cult following in Austria and Germany. Recently, a new album, "This Atom Heart Of Ours". was released.

Naked Lunch Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
We raise children after all we settle down
And long for harmony
I hope I never get to be this man of bitter state you're in
refrain:
Golden waves are for the naked
Call my name when there's neglection
Golden waves are for the naked
When the morning comes and the pouring rain
Our years don't come in colours
We raise children after all we settle down
And long for harmony
I hope I never get to be this man of bitter state you're in
refrain
The song Colours by Naked Lunch seems to be about the process of aging and the longing for a peaceful and harmonious life. The opening lines "Our years don't come in colours, we raise children after all we settle down and long for harmony" suggests that life becomes more muted as we age, and we become preoccupied with finding a sense of equilibrium. The repetition of the phrase "long for harmony" reinforces this notion. The singer expresses a fear of growing bitter as we age, which is evident in the line "I hope I never get to be this man of bitter state you're in".
The refrain "Golden waves are for the naked, when the morning comes and the pouring rain, call my name when there's neglection" is a bit more ambiguous but has a sense of wistfulness and nostalgia. The "Golden waves" could be interpreted as a metaphor for something beautiful or blissful that we strive for in life. The line "when the morning comes and the pouring rain" suggests that this beauty may not come easily and may require some struggle or effort to attain. The plea to "call my name when there's neglection" could be a request for someone to acknowledge us or offer us comfort during difficult times.
Overall, the song seems to be a reflection on the challenges and complexities of life and a call for empathy and kindness towards ourselves and others.
