1) Naked Lunch is a band from Klagenfurt, Austria, founded in 1991. They started out as an alternative rock band mixing hard rock guitars and fragile vocals. In the nineties, they connected with the German The Notwist/Weilheim musical scene with whom they still have their ties. In fact, their producer, Olaf Opal, is also a working for The Notwist.
Songs for the Exhausted was recorded after a long hiatus (a time when the band nearly collapsed) and saw the band abandon their rock roots and turn to a more experimental, electronic approach to their songs.
Today, they have a cult following in Austria and Germany. Recently, a new album, "This Atom Heart Of Ours". was released.

we struggle hard not to surrender
we fear the future and the past

that is more we can take
that is more we can take
In Naked Lunch's song "God," the lyrics describe a young boy who takes himself too seriously that he takes a gun and aims it at God. The situation is so frustrating that even God cannot take it. The girl next door is depicted as already weeping because of a hard day where she could not get any rest, and all she can do is hug her pillow. As they try to start a new day and pray for better times to come, God is ignoring them, which is all they can take. The lyrics depict that people struggle hard not to surrender and fear the future and past, and every minute seems like torture, and they feel that they cannot take any more.
The lyrics of the song "God" can be interpreted in several ways, but the overall meaning seems to be that we tend to take life's challenges too seriously and feel overwhelmed by them, which can lead to extreme measures, like taking our frustration out on God or other people. The song's title itself, "God," implies that we often handle things in our lives and feel frustrated when things don't go as planned, even blaming a higher power.
