Ajram was born on May 16th, 1983 to Nabil Ajram and Rimonda Oun, as the eldest of two siblings, Nadine Nariman Ajram and Nabil Ajram Jr. She started singing at the age of eight, when she appeared for the first time in 1991 at a singing contest for kids on national television in Lebanon. In 1995, at the age of twelve, Nancy Ajram took part in the entertainment show, Noujoum Al-Moustakbal, ("Stars of the Future"), a Lebanese television musical competition, winning a gold medal in the Tarab category after singing a song by Umm Kulthum.
Ajram studied music following her early success with renowned Lebanese musicians and although she was less than 18 years old, the syndicate of professional artists in Lebanon accepted her as a member because they found her to be an exceptional talent and deserved to be qualified as a professional artist. Shortly afterwards Nancy released her first album, Mihtagalak ("I Need You') in 1998, with most of its songs holding a pure Tarab style, thus starting her music career at the age of 15. It was followed by Sheel Oyoonak Anni ("Take Your Eyes Off Of Me") in 2000, which achieved more success.

The song "Betegy Sertak" by Nancy Ajram is a love ballad which talks about the singer's undying love for their partner. The chorus of the song repeats the phrase "betegy sertak," which translates to "you invade my thoughts," indicating that the singer can't stop thinking about their loved one. The opening lines of the song express that despite the singer's attempts, they cannot forget about their lover as the memories of their time together continues to haunt them. The song then moves on to describe the different emotions the singer experiences when thinking about their lover, ranging from happiness to sadness.
Throughout the song, Ajram talks about the various things that she and her partner have been through together, such as the hardships of life and moments of joy. The song's bridge reminisces the special moments that the singer and her loved one have shared together. The lyrics "ana wenta, ana wenta, ana wenta Aeshna fiha" translates to "you and I, you and I, you and I lived in it," where "it" refers to a time and place where they were together. Ultimately, the song conveys that the love the singer has for her partner is so consuming that it can't be forgotten, even though they have gone through various ups and downs in their relationship.

I just listened to it recently, and did not think that this song was already there 5 years ago. Oh God, this is a great hum. Reminds me of when my Mom used to play Qasidah songs at home when I was little. Your golden voice really touched Nancy.
