O Tannenbaum
Nat Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

O Tannenbaum, O Tannenbaum
Wie treu sind deine Blatter!
O Tannenbaum, O Tannenbaum
Wie treu sind deine Blatter!
Du grunst nicht nur zur Sommerzeit,
Nein, auch im Winter, wenn es schneit.
O Tannenbaum, O Tannenbaum
Wie treu sind deine Blatter!

O Tannenbaum, O Tannenbaum
Du kannst mir sehr gefallen!
O Tannenbaum, O Tannenbaum
Du kannst mir sehr gefallen!
Wie oft hat nicht zur Weihnachtszeit
Ein Baum von dir mich hoch erfreut!
O Tannenbaum, O Tannenbaum
Du kannst mir sehr gefallen!

O Tannembaum, O Tannenbaum
Du kannst mir sehr gefallen!

Nat ennobles the German language with his soothing voice and clear pronounciation. I never heard him sing in my language until now and I am very thankful. Merry Christmas 2022 to all people around the world!๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ™

I can't imagine the holiday season without Nat King Cole singing this and THE CHRISTMAS SONG.

What a refined and beautiful voice he had. I am 67 and have always loved his music along with Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra. Christmas is not the same without these guys.

This beautiful Christmas ๐ŸŽ„ song brings back memories of our wonderful Lutheran church family members singing this in German โœ๏ธ
Thank You, Lord, for our people

Wow, his pronunciation is incredible, so clear and careful. Itโ€™s obvious, that he carefully prepared recording the song. I am German btw, so I can say. (Does anyone know if Nat could speak German?)

You know, of all the times I've heard this at Christmas I've never ever heard the words to it, Nat King Cole's rendition in German (and I do hope he has pronounced the words correctly), it's original language is just superb, and gives this melody a new meaning. Thank you Peter Foxx for the upload.
