A crazy energy inside of me
First just a tingle, then it turned into a burn
Like fire in my blood
And now I hear my body talk, talk, talk
A taste is all, all I need
And I'm about to climb the walls
Come over, come over
I'm over doing without you
Come over, come over
Hey lover, give me some sugar
Got me addicted, so you can't take it away
Get me all satisfied
And now I hear my body talk, talk, talk
A taste is all, all I need
And I'm about to climb the walls
No way I'll be alone tonight
Come over, come over
I'm over doing without you
Come over, come over
Hey lover, give me some sugar
Just took a little kiss to show how I was missing out
Compared to you no other than a thing to brag about
Your lips are hot and sweet, I feel it to my knees
Now I want only one sugar, sugar on my tongue
I need your kisses baby, gotta keep 'em coming
Oh-oh, oh-oh, oh
Sugar
Natalia Gordienko's song "Sugar" is all about craving for someone and the physical passion that drives her to the edge. The lyrics convey an almost primal desire that begins as a tingle and turns into a burn, like fire in her blood. She seems to be going crazy with an intense energy that's taking over her. She hears her body speaking to her, urging her to go after what she wants - which is her lover. She even says that she's about to climb the walls and won't be alone tonight, indicating that she needs the physicality of being with her lover to keep her sane. The line "Give me some sugar" is a demand for a sweet kiss, one that is undeniably addictive.
The song speaks to a universal emotion that many people might feel at some point in their lives. Being so consumed by another person that their touch is essential for one to feel complete is a theme that runs throughout many love songs, and this one is no different. Additionally, there is a sense of urgency that is conveyed in the pacing of the song. It's upbeat, almost frantic, mirroring the feeling of being consumed by one's desire.
