In the pitch black dirt roads of the country my car broke down. I did not want to leave the comfort of my car. I felt like I was being watched. Y’know, that feeling of being not alone when you should be. When I got out of the car there was a skinless man standing around 20 feet behind me slightly to my right. man. He had a distorted face with reddish black fleshy muscles. He had black eyes, long nails, and pointed, but short fingers. He looked angry. I shook like a leaf. He lunged at me and I hit him over the head with my flashlight (at this point I was physically shaking and crying, but there was no time for crying. Time was of the essence). He dropped to the ground and I hit him again, still in the head. I ran, but I was getting deeper and deeper into a very dark woodsy area. I turned my flashlight off and noticed the ground was wet and cold. It took my a minute, but I realized that the dripping was blood. I backed away from where I came from.

I kept running. After that I heard a horrifying screech as sounding if it came from that thing. I came across a offroad 4x4 path. it went uphill. there was a broken down telephone pole in front of me. it eventually lead to large field surrounded by trees and in the middle a steel supported watchtower. Stupid me decided to climb up there. in the middle there was a table with a Beretta M9 on it. of course I grabbed it. it had around half a magazine full of rounds in it. I heard the screech again. It sounded a lot closer. eventually I heard footsteps coming up the watchtower stairs. There it was. 4 feet away from me. It opened its blood covered mouth to reveal a set of thousands of teeth. all on the same row. top and bottom. I grabbed the pistol and shot five rounds. I cant remember anything after that. I woke up on my families couch. they said I was covered in blood. I had my eyes gashed out they said. Im blind now. I still think about that evening.

So many comments about how important it is for the child (and children in general) to have parents who love them. I agree. However, since we as a society have taken to fantasy, I'd like to share my two cents. Children also need both a father and a mother: a father who is born male and proud to be a man and a mother who has no trouble accepting that she was born female. A man who loves the woman and future children enough to marry the woman and the two work as a team to honor and respect each other. A child needs two mature adults who are capable of making a commitment and who are willing to give their marriage serious effort. Sure things like death happen. A father or mother may die before the child is grown, but the child should have the best start possible. Using a sperm donor is not about wanting to bring a child into the world; it's about the selfishness of wanting a child for oneself. It's probably virtually impossible for parents to see their children as anything but their children, but in my fantasy world, I think that parents should think about the child who will someday become an adult. What is best for a child who will someday become an adult in this world?

Far too many people are having children indiscriminately. Ari and Caitlyn aren't alone in this, but I just wish that more people would give serious thought to the unborn child. I wish that more adults wanting children would see that it should not always be about what "they" want. Furthermore, how can anyone in this thread (myself included) prove that Ari and Caitlyn will raise the child with love? I'm certainly not saying that they won't, but to be honest, children need love and MORE. Love should be a given. Children also need psychological protection. Thousands of years of women giving birth should not be ignored. A child (any child, not just this trans couple's child) deserves not only love but love from parents who are a man and a woman. The sperm donor's DNA doesn't just go away, but I doubt that this baby will ever know him or any of the members of his (donor's) family. Is that being fair to the child? Is it loving?

Lastly, Ari can't be both a man and a woman. Hopefully, he is able to love the child that he has brought into the world enough to get help in figuring things out--in finding himself or herself. The world has enough treacherous terrain for the child to navigate as he grows up. Being able to rely on biology would be most helpful in his case.

“They” is a neutral pronoun that encompasses he and she as well. For example, if I found a set of keys and didnt know who left it behind, I would say “Somebody left their keys.” That does’t mean I’m saying a nonbinary person left their keys. It means “a person left keys here.” which can mean any gender person left keys.
Referring to a baby with they is similar. You dont know what the baby wants to be right now. The child will tell you later, and “they” is used until you find out the gender of the person. Cheers!

Wow! That’s exactly what happened to me. I couldn’t push the baby out, the epidural wore off and the doctor threatened me with a C-section! But I told him that maybe I should have the C. He said, “You can do this” and I finally pushed him out with the help of a plunger and salad tongs. It tore up my entire region, caused nerve damage and I had to be given more pain meds after having him. The doctor commented “I don’t know why you’re having pain now”, but never checked to see why I was having pain. He just pushed more Demerol in my system and wheeled me out.

The doctor should NEVER threaten patients with a c section. HE has the degree! HE should decide if they need to go in.

@M agreed. A lot of laws are very backwards regarding ivf and fertility. As a straight woman who’s infertile I find a lot of these laws very discriminatory because reproduction is a human right. Ivf and infertility should be totally free and covered. It’s not fair that fertile people get to pop out babies for free. I’d rather take that ivf money and save it for the kids college fund.

As an adopted Indigenous woman raised in an Irish white family, I grew up and, with the help of social workers, met my biological parents. Two of the most dysfunctional people on this Earth. He beat her and waterboarded her while she was pregnant with me. She drank heavily. While I do not hold any of this against them, I cannot be in their lives. My optic nerve was damaged in the womb and I was born with approximately 9% of my vision in one eye. I am completely blind in the other. I have Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and complex PTSD that got started from them abusing me as an infant. I have a boatload of mental illness from both sides of the bio fam. All the information and meeting them did not help me. What helps me is love, acceptance, learning and knowing that I have inherent worth and dignity. Knowing I have family and friends who love me as I am.
Whether you protest or you do not, the face of 'family' is changing and will continue to evolve over time. I will absolutely encourage and champion these people in the name of love, acceptance, and knowing that change is the only constant. We don't have to agree. I swear, dissent is what makes the world keep spinning. Abundant blessings to you and all who may disagree with how I see this.

I just accidentally saw this but decided to stay. I watched it til the end and now I'm crying because of how they showed their willingness to have this baby despite their situations and when the baby came out it's like the words these two wonderful people said pierced through my heart. I just get so emotional and get a little bit jealous of people who are loved and wanted by both of their parents. Congratulations, you two! I know you would be both great parents ♥️

It's because as soon as they see something that they don't understand they feel threatened. These are people who were told to never question their identity growing up, were never allowed the time to explore more of who they are, so as soon as someone says they did question it and they did find their own identity outside of their parents and peers, it feels like a threat against them. It's kind of like when one kid gets a piece of candy and you don't, "why do they get to have candy when I don't, I hate them."
