I parked outside the frontdoor and stopped to say hello
To an old man who was standing there with his handshape worn
Said welcome to the rainbow
The rainbow in glenfarne
Welcome to the rainbow the rainbow in glenfarne
The ballroom of romance where song and dance was bornSo many couples fell in love in eachothers arms
Dancing at the rainbow, the rainbow in glenfarne.
I said my friend please tell me for i'm a stranger here, i bet you many stories that i would love to hear
He said come on in and i'll be glad to take you back in time, tell tou about the dance all days when i was in my pram
Dancin at the rainbow, the rainbow in glenfarne
People came from miles around to see the bands preform.
The lyrics of Nathan Carter's "The Rainbow In Glenfarne" portray a story of a man who stumbles upon an old ballroom while driving down a beautiful country road. He is greeted by an old man with a worn handshape who welcomes him to "The Rainbow," the ballroom of romance where song and dance were born. The song reminisces about the countless couples who fell in love while dancing at the Rainbow in Glenfarne, and the memories left behind from days gone by. The singer of the song is curious and eager to learn more about this magical place, and the old man is more than happy to take him back in time to tell him about the dance-all-day days of his youth.
There is a sense of nostalgia and longing in the lyrics, as they paint a beautiful picture of a place frozen in time, where love and music intertwined to create a beautiful atmosphere. The Rainbow in Glenfarne is not just a ballroom, but a symbol of a simpler time, where people came from far and wide to see the bands perform, and couples danced the night away in each other's arms.
