It isn’t legal. The waiver is not a legally binding contract. Contract law prohibits waivers from making illegal acts legal. If someone dies, it’s absolutely a homicide. He makes a point of saying everything used in the scene is “gone, packed up and taken to a different state.” He knows it’s not legal and goes to great lengths to get rid of any evidence of physical torture. I imagine he makes money selling torture videos on the dark web. I’m pretty sure he’s not really doing it for bags of dog food.

People enjoy going to HAUNTS for thrills and chills, not for legitimate PTSD, and what Russ has historically done is bait and switch by tricking people into thinking it’s just another haunt when really it’s something else entirely. And I’m not a fool, I know good and well there are people who know exactly what they’re getting themselves into; adrenaline junkies definitely exist, but they are few and far between and the majority of Russ’s victims are either tricked, pressured, or manipulated into doing it. No one has made it to the end because the staff call it off before the "time is up"

This isn’t a haunt. I was a haunted house worker before. The farthest we would go is touch them, or scream at them. This is traumatizing. The most terrifying part might be that these people are constantly being gagged and even get waterboarded, so there might be a chance that they aren’t able to say they want to leave when they really want to. They also aren’t really warned about what will happen next so they can find out if they want to leave first. The people who work for the haunt itself are cowards. They do all this sick stuff but make you sign a form saying you won’t fight back at all. Nobody would participate in this if they genuinely observed the total experience and are in their right mind. The scene where they make them sign the documents under duress is the most terrifying part.

Also worth noting, I’ve heard that even if they sign that form, if they actually are injured deliberately by the “actors”, it’s not binding in most courts. These people could be taken in for tons of felonies if the victims felt they should prosecute.

If that case of the cannibal and the man willingly being cannibalized is anything to go off of, even if you consent to torture, torture is still illegal and immoral. This isn't as bad as what some people put themselves through mentally and physically in everyday lives. This isn't even as bad as what most special forces military units go through. None of it is real. It's all mental and physical distress, but never to the extent of being serious. If anything I could see this having therapeutic effects for some people, who overcame a fear or found newfound courage to face dire events.

A few years ago, I had the police called on me by McKamey himself for physically attacking one of the so called actors. After hearing all the hype, I was eager to see how far I could make it and after a three year waiting list, I got my chance. We had to sign a waiver and were explicitly told that we couldn't retaliate against his employees for they're treatment of us because this is what we signed up for. But I'm the type of guy that gets riled up easily. Almost immediately the games started, smearing mud in some peoples faces, taunting us, even spitting in some faces. I lost it and got one of the actors in a severe choke hold and it took three guys to restrain me. The actor almost passed out and was turning blue by the time people got me off of him. The police were called an I was escorted off the property. McKamey threatened to sue me if I got within ten miles of his property ever again and he still can I suppose seeing as how I violated the waiver. Why he didn't is anyone's guess. But that's what nobody ever shows you, that there are a lot of people who actually fight back as I found out much later that I was far from the only one.

The signing of waivers happens before they touch you. They added in this hostile signing for theatrics. I practice law and this has been brought to my attention before. As sick as it is, it is legal with the official waiver signing protecting them legally. It’s abhorrent what they do to these people, but they have an actual sit down before the experience begins where they go over the participants health records and discuss what is on the waiver. The man himself behind this has had several issues with legal disputes due to his psychopathic tendencies.

I would have loved to have seen the Jacka$$ crew participate in a MM “haunt” a decade or so ago. My money would be on Steve-O & Knoxville making it all the way. Don’t get me wrong, the premise of the way this experience was set up, as well as Russ himself, are grotesque. It was clearly an elaborate legal workaround for people who enjoy torturing others. That being said, it would have been very interesting watching the guys voluntarily try to navigate this place.

Even if someone managed to get the 20.000 dollars, it wouldn't really be worth it:

- Medical covers would drain the money gained due to bone fractures (albeit small they can be expensive) or really anything that would need medical attention
- Some ways to earn more than 20.000 are way safer (which I currently do not know about but I'm certain about it)
- The prize's value isn't worth it, due to the constant increase of cost towards everything and it'd be pretty much like getting 100 dollars
- Legal actions beyond the consent could practically vanish the prize due to sues and maybe even close the contest

Russ put a lot of agreements in the waiver, which he said was to raise a level of fear in the participants. Russ also said that he told participants, numerous of times, you don't want to do this, you don't want to do this, you really don't want to do this. His game was to never pay out the £20000 prize. It would be impossible. One contract only, should have been signed and that is, before actually entering the attraction. The fools who choose to go through something as sadistic as this place was.

The waiver is legally complete BS. Its invalidated by contradicting itself paired with the conduct of MM. More specifically the section on Liability, #17, stating injury to the participants is never on purpose. The attraction section literally lists all the ways the participants may be deliberately/intentionally injured.

If it was unintended like a small cut in the corner of your mouth when being fish hooked then the contract might be defensible. If you have a tooth pulled without novacaine.... That does (believe it or not) constitute a deliberate injury.
