As a percussionist, I LOVE that you sampled different sticks and mallets for each drum. I love that detail in a percussion library. I'll be picking this one up! I look forward to seeing the entire orchestra come to fruition with this level of detail with the sound of Abbey Road, though it makes me look at my BBCSO with sad eyes!

What I'm always concerned about when you release new orchestral libraries is: all the instruments don't have these high punchy fff dynamics and everything feels like it's mf at best - but sometimes I need high dynamics. Thats the reason why I haven't bought your orchestral stuff in years now and after testing I was also really happy that I didn't buy any BBC library. I hope you expanded the dynamic range of the Strings, Woodwinds and Brass, because I'd really like to have a nice Abbey Road Orchestra on my computer to replace my current symphony orchestra.

Another thing is the disk space. When I think about the disk space of the BBC orchestra I'm really concerned about this one. Only the Low Percussion being 100Gb - I don't want to think about the size of the whole orchestra.

I agree that disk space is definitely becoming an issue. Thunderblade's are great but very expensive. Samsung T7s only are available up to 2 TB. I realize this is not a SpitfireAudio specific issue, but still something composers are dealing with.

@Enoch Attey yes, especially if you have a Thunderbolt 3 (like USB-C) or similar connection, and NVMe seem to work especially well. NVMe (nonvolatile memory express) is a new storage access and transport protocol for flash and next-generation solid-state drives (SSDs) that delivers the highest throughput and fastest response times

@Enoch Attey what works well I find, on an external SSD is make separate folders for each company who’s libraries you get. I found that makes it easier to make sure if I’ve got sonething already since so many libraries are available and companies repeat their sales throughout every year :-)

The shear depth of this library bodes well for Spitfire Audio. If it is any indication of what we can expect from the future modules, Abbey Road Orchestra may very well become the most complete orchestral library ever created.

I am wondering if this new series is meant to replace the Abbey Road One libraries. I would like to think that new AR1 libraries will continue to be released, including solo instrument libraries, and that Abbey Road Orchestra will simply supplement our other options with more nuanced performances and mic arrangements.

Seems like the Abbey Road One libraries are ensembles. Pre-orchestrated instruments, while the Abbey Road Orchestra libraries will be like traditional orchestra libraries. Individual instruments you can then put together on your own to orchestrate

I am trying to confirm this by reviewing Spitfire's own descriptions of Abbey Road One vs. Abbey Road Orchestra. Maybe this new "Orchestra" series is what Paul was alluding to in their introduction to AR1. (www.youtube.com/watch?v=vUnylkQsDrU at 5 min. 6 sec.) If this is the case, it sounds like these two series are intended to be used together?

Following up, it appears that the two ranges, despite being "totally different", are being produced to play well together. If ARO supplements rather than replaces AR1, then I think all is well.

I would love to be given the option to select which mic signals I want to download, like Orchestral Tools does. That would make downloads faster and, most importantly, save a ton of space on the hard drive.

I appreciate the all-in-one patch being there, because one of my biggest gripes BBCSO has always been having to load a new track for each individual articulation, and my Mac can only take so much. My Logic session's crashed few times because the load was so much. Especially made it annoying when trying to do mixing. I hope this all-in-one does become more standard practice from now on. It would certainly save my CPU load.

Nexus 3 and VPS Avenger also got many "live loops" for long time . In Avenger you can also do whatever you want with sounds , only "no idea" can stop you . Here i dont see that freedom .But to be honest i see here some unique ideas which are only here so that is great that aren't " copy and paste " only with many samples . Not for me but i can recommend that for few people which i think will be happy if they can use this :)

While I love how the drums "bloom in the room" in isolation while auditioning sounds, it's sounding a bit unrealistic/exaggerated in full mixes due to the lack of dampening from the lack of other players present in the room. Do you have guidance on how to resolve that with separately recorded samples?

Does anyone know.. if this eventual entire set "replaces" the Abbey Road One stuff I paid a bit for? Or is this going to compliment it? I am just a hobbyist.. and spent a bit on Abbey Road one.. hate to think this is largely going to duplicate (but add to and/or improve upon) what I already spent a bit on. If there were an upgrade path for example.. that would be great. That's probably the one thing I appreciate about NI's Complete/etc.. you can usually save quite a bit with upgrades.

That's what this is going to be. It's just a question of how much is released today, as this is the Abbey Road Modular Orchestra. We don't know yet how the modules will be divided, but the first one releases in just over 30 minutes!

Nah, certainly it sounds really great....." crafted for professional composers, producers " etc. But I want to say this - I feel myself to be basically a hobbyist in the music production, although I try to achieve the best possible results......I bought " Hammers " some time ago - also quite expensive, again some 100 GBs (!) of percussion (!) sounds....but at the end I've got a feeling that I could really use some two gigabytes out of it :-) - in other words : it is too big, too expensive, giving uselessly too much possibilities, that I never needed until now. I personally wouldn't invest in such a stuff again. Of course - if they would invite me to create the music for the next " Lord of the Rings " movie, I would think about this one seriously....🙂 Anyway - if someone is capable enough to use all the features, congratulations - I wish him all the best. Enjoy !

We have no clue when this library is complete and we don't know the roadmap or the final GB size and price of Abbey Road One. As has been mentioned in the Spitfire Audio forum, many people (including me) don't want to buy more before we know when this library is finished and what the final price is going to be. It's great quality and all, but when do we have the whole thing and how much did we pay? Not unreasonable questions I think.

Nice video for a definitely interesting product, if the economic crisis was not here I would certainly use my credit card tonight. But, even if we all love to see Paul, it would have been great to illustrate it with images of the real instruments and their associated beaters/sticks. How a "jun" does looks? Or a "daegon" and a "gong bass drum?

as amazing as the quality of this is, I have to question the level of effort one has to put in to program the automation for this, as opposed to just recording an orchestra with your score. don't get me wrong I love my spitfire stuff, but the level of detail going into this makes me feel that the price for all of this to include the sample libraries themselves, and then the programming time to make it as realistic as possible, might not be as cost effective as you might think. this first module is expensive for just low percussion. if you were to think about the full orchestra when its available, it'll be very expensive. and also we have to wait for all these new modules to come out. remember, if you have composed your own score, an orchestra from Budapest can record all of your work in a session for £1k
