Unholy Prophecies
Necrophobic Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Depending on the book of lies
Read in the book of prophecies
And speak the words of blasphemy
Selling your soul for abandonment of God
Living by the book, you ignore the truth of lies
Following the cross for salvation when you're dead
Servant of God, you are only living lies
[Chorus]
Born to pray to Christ
To sanctify the priest
Baptized to dying
Is it your belief
Live your life to the inverted cross
The lord of hell is the one to sanctify
Turn your back to Christianity
Believers of God shall die
People led to hell by Christianity
Masses betrayed for the power of greed
By the holiness of our lord you shall crucify your God
Followers of lies, now you must decide
See through the lies
Leave the spell of Christ
Dechristianize yourself
To the unholy prophecies
[Chorus]
The lyrics of Necrophobic's song Unholy Prophecies address the theme of rejecting Christianity and turning to worship the lord of hell. The first verse refers to the act of blindly following the laws and teachings of Christianity, despite being based on a "book of lies." The singer accuses Christians of ignoring the "truth of lies" and living a life of hypocrisy, selling their souls for the false promise of salvation after death. The chorus questions the validity of Christian beliefs, asking if it is truly worth being born, baptized, and ultimately dying for.
The second verse urges listeners to reject Christianity and embrace the "inverted cross," a symbol of Satanism. The singer claims that believers of God will ultimately die and that the masses have been led astray by the power-hungry leaders of Christianity. The final lines implore listeners to "dechristianize" themselves and follow the "unholy prophecies" of Satanism instead.
Overall, the lyrics of Unholy Prophecies are a scathing critique of Christianity and a call to action for listeners to reject its teachings and turn to Satanism instead.

The riff at 6:02 is amazing. Dude who played bass at 6:26 was completely out of his fucking mind, until today I can't believe how he restructured the whole song in a few seconds.
