Crazy Horse is best known for its long association with Young, despite having released five albums of its own over a 19-year span. It has been co-credited with Young as Neil Young and Crazy Horse on 15 albums, "Americana" and "Psychedelic Pill" from 2012 being the latest.
The band recorded a concept album entitled "Greendale" (2003) that told the story using metaphors of murder and crime to represent the destruction of a small town community. The final song "Be The Rain" is one of Neil's classic epics, pleading for the world to be like the rain -- recycle and conserve to save our planet.
Discography: the studio albums "Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere" (1969), "Zuma" (1975), "Rust Never Sleeps" (1979), "Re-ac-tor" (1981), "Life" (1987), "Ragged Glory" (1990), "Sleeps With Angels" (1994), "Broken Arrow" (1996), Greendale (2003), "Americana" (2012), Psychedelic Pill (2012) and live albums "Live Rust" (1979), "Weld" (1991), "Year of the Horse" (1997), "Live at the Fillmore East" (2006)
Wonderin'
Neil Young & Crazy Horse Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
My footsteps made me crazy
Baby, you've been gone so long
I'm wonderin' if you'll come home
I'm hopin' that you'll be my baby
I'm wonderin' if I'll be alone
Knowin' that I need you to save me.
To keep my heart from sadness
Baby, you've been gone so long
I'm wonderin' if you'll come home
I'm hopin' that you'll be my baby
I'm wonderin' if I'll be alone
Knowin' that I need you to save me.
I'm wonderin', I'm wonderin',
I'm wonderin', I'm wonderin',
I'm wonderin', I'm wonderin',
I'm wonderin', I'm wonderin'.
Well, I'm knowin' that I need you to save me
Knowin' that I need you to save me.
Knowin' that I need you to save me.
Knowin' that I need you to save me.
I'm wonderin', I'm wonderin'.
The lyrics to Neil Young and the Shocking Pinks's song Wonderin' express the feelings of a person who is desperately missing their significant other. The song opens with the singer walking all night long and feeling like they are going crazy because of their long absence. The person wonders if their significant other will ever come back and if they do, whether they will still be together. The singer then says that he has been talking all day long to keep his heart from being sad. It is evident that the person is trying to distract himself from the pain of separation.
The chorus "I'm Wonderin'" reflects the recurring thoughts of the singer. He is constantly wondering if his significant other will come back and save him from loneliness. The person acknowledges that he needs his significant other to come back to him to make him feel complete once again.
The song is an expression of love and longing for someone who is not present. It is apparent that the singer is suffering and has tried everything to cope with their absence. The song presents a sense of melancholy and loneliness, yet it is not completely hopeless, as the person still has hope that his significant other will come back to him.
