I never expected my journey to be full of difficulties.

I went through, 8 different schools in, 12 different years
I attended multiple schools and faced significant challenges in my educational journey.

That's 30 different teachers, over ten thousand different peers
I encountered a vast number and variety of teachers and classmates.

And I done fought in e'ryone, been suspended e'rytime
I had fights in every school and ended up getting suspended each time.

Besides a few a felony, done committed e'ry crime
I engaged in criminal activities, albeit not all of them.

But never braggin on, just want you to see me what I done done
I don't boast about my accomplishments, but merely show them to inspire others.

I'm never proud of it, so I don't have to go back there again
I don't take pride in my past mistakes because I don't want to repeat them.

Only thing I handed out was more bills
I couldn't offer much to others financially because of my own struggles.

Only thing pulled me out was my will
My determination to succeed was the only thing that got me out of that difficult situation.

God told me the sun don't chill
I believe that God made it clear to me that life will always be challenging.

Determined to make use of one of these skills
I was always determined to use my talents to accomplish something positive.

Either that or go beat the block
I saw two options: make something of myself or resort to illegal activities.

Ain't no way you can beat the cops
I knew that getting into trouble with the law was not worth it.

But now I know..
Through all my struggles, I've gained wisdom and understanding.

Nobody told me that the road would be easy, yeah
I didn't receive any warning that my journey would be simple.

I don't believe, I've made it this far
Despite the challenges, I'm proud of everything I've accomplished.

My whole life, man I've been workin so hard and I know
I've put in a lot of effort and determination to get where I am.

I'm going to be honest with you right now.

I could sit here and count on one hand
I only had a few people who supported me in my journey.

Same folks showin up in swarms, waitin for me to go on
People who didn't believe in me before now want to be a part of my success.

I was playin them Little League games
I had to start somewhere, and for me, it was playing sports as a kid.

Nobody out hurr rootin for me but my Momma
My mother was my biggest supporter throughout my journey.

Now we out hurr complainin, 'I got work to do'
I'm tired of hearing people complain about their problems when there are others who have it worse.

I done had them down and ups and, don't plan on comin back down
I've faced many challenges and obstacles, but I'm determined not to let them bring me down.

Wouldn't have no knowledge of wealth, without no knowledge of self
I believe that understanding myself is the key to achieving success.

And I'ma keep walkin this road - my mind, body and soul
I'll continue on my journey with everything I have, both physically and mentally.

That would help me to ease my pain (to help ease my pain, yeah)
I wish someone had given me the tools to lessen my struggles.
