They are listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the only family to reach number one record status in three successive generations (beginning with grandparents Ozzie and Harriet Nelson).
The band split with Geffen Records record label after 1995, but they have continued to produce and release albums independently under their label, Stone Canyon Records. However, they have yet to revisit the level of success they experienced during their 1990 debut. http://thenelsonbrothers.com

Nobody Wins In The End
Nelson Lyrics

You're scared, I know, the wheels are in motion
It's opening night for the show of your lifetime, my friend
The days roll by, you live for tomorrow
Against the tide, in an ocean of sorrow
Well, is it all worth it if nobody wins in the end?
We learn as a child to carry the pain and hide it away in the dark
Give me love for the rest of my life
Give me hope for the rest of my days
I'm tired of watching the world slip away
There's one thing you must understand
When there's no forgiveness then nobody wins in the end
You've come of age (you're a slave), a slave and a soldier
You fight the rage (every day), but you heart's growing colder
You're starting to wonder if nobody wins in the end
You know, I'd rather die than keep living the lie we've become
I want to break free! I won't let these fools hold me down!
I'm gonna spread my wings and fly
It's time to go, the curtain is falling
The final show, a new play is calling
Just one thing to give you; take it or leave it, my friend
If we don't come together, then nobody wins in the end
The lyrics of Nelson's song, "Nobody Wins In The End", is a reflective piece about the struggles of life and relationships. The song speaks about putting up a facade and pretending to be strong, even when we are hurting. It also discusses the consequences of holding onto pain and carrying it with us for years. The song stresses that the answer to life's problems lies in love and forgiveness, encouraging us to come together to ensure that everyone benefits. The lyrics force us to think about the repercussions of not forgiving others and ourselves.
The song begins with "Your first hello, the darkness is broken, You're scared, I know, the wheels are in motion" which implies that the singer is offering comfort to someone that has just experienced a significant change, and not necessarily a good one. The chorus echoes this sentiment: "Give me love for the rest of my life, Give me hope for the rest of my days, I'm tired of watching the world slip away."
The second stanza speaks about how we are conditioned to hide our pain away and how this has become a lie that we must sustain. The singer rejects this notion and states his desire to break free from it. "I want to break free! I won't let these fools hold me down! I'm gonna spread my wings and fly," he sings.
In conclusion, "Nobody Wins In The End" is a song about the search for meaning and purpose in life. It encourages the listener to see that life is not a competition, and that forgiving others and ourselves is the key to happiness.
