Something to Remember Me By
Nelson Riddle Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Oh, give me something to remember you by
When you are far away from me
Just a little something, meaning love cannot die
No matter where you chance to be

So I'll pray for you, night and day for you
It will see me through like a charm 'til you return
So give me something I can remember you by
When you are far away from me

So I'll pray for you, every single day for you
It will see me through like a charm until you return

Give me something, something to remember you by
When you are far away from me

I've loved that song for years. It's actually much older than 1958 - originally in the 1930 Broadway show, "Three's a Crowd" and performed by so many artists, a real favorite. Thanks for bringing it back again in this slightly bouncy version. Listen to Vera Lynn sing it in wartime, 1941. An entirely different feeling. Thanks for all your good choices, Jymster.

+Ruth R Yes, the 1958 was in reference to the year this Nelson Riddle album was released. I love the Vera Lynn version as well. Thanks so much for listening to this one and for your comments. Very much appreciated.
