What a Fool Believes
Neri Per Caso Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The sentimental fool don't see
Tryin' hard to recreate
What had yet to be created once in her life
She musters a smile
For his nostalgic tale
Never coming near what he wanted to say
Only to realize
She had a place in his life
He never made her think twice
As he rises to her apology
Anybody else would surely know
He's watching her go
But what a fool believes he sees
No wise man has the power to reason away
What seems to be
Is always better than nothing
And nothing at all keeps sending him
Somewhere back in her long ago
Where he can still believe there's a place in her life
Someday, somewhere, she will return
She had a place in his life
He never made her think twice
As he rises to her apology
Anybody else would surely know
He's watching her go
But what a fool believes he sees
No wise man has the power to reason away
What seems to be
Is always better than nothing
There's nothing at all
But what a fool believes he sees
The lyrics of Neri Per Caso feat. Mario Biondi's song "What A Fool Believes" are about a man who is foolishly holding on to a past relationship that never really existed. The man is described as a "sentimental fool" who is trying to recreate something that never happened in this woman's life. He is clinging on to the hope that she will come back to him someday, even though she has clearly moved on.
The woman in the song is polite and listens to the man's nostalgic tales, but she never really comes close to understanding what he is trying to say. Eventually, the man realizes that what he is searching for never really existed in the first place. He is left watching the woman go, but he is still holding on to the unrealistic hope that she will return to him.
Overall, the song is a sad commentary on the power of the past and the difficulty in letting go of something that may never have actually happened. It is a reminder that we must move on from the past and live in the present in order to find true happiness.

Siete 6 veri gioielli.
